On the morning of May 27, 2025, the Summit, New Jersey, community mourned the tragic death of 19-year-old Dylan Faulkner, who was struck by an NJ Transit train near Summit Station.

According to NJ Transit officials, the incident occurred at approximately 1:28 a.m. when Morris & Essex Line train 6907, which had departed New York Penn Station at 12:34 a.m. and was en route to Dover, struck Dylan near Summit Station.

The train, carrying about 50 passengers and crew members, was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 2:13 a.m.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported among those on board, but the tragedy of Dylan’s death sent shockwaves through the community.
