Tamara Ferdinand, recently hired as the newest assistant coach for the Sun Devil Triathlon program, shares her life with her husband, Alexander Ferdinand.

The couple tied the knot on December 28, 2024, celebrating the start of their journey together.

Alexander Ferdinand serves as a dedicated teacher at Rapid City Area Schools, where he has worked for over nine years.

At Southwest Middle School in Rapid City, South Dakota, he teaches health and physical education, inspiring students to embrace fitness and healthy living.

Beyond the classroom, Alexander has made significant contributions as a coach, guiding middle school boys’ and girls’ basketball and track teams.

Alexander’s coaching career extends to varsity sports as well. He has coached varsity hockey and football, even taking on the role of special teams coordinator during his time coaching high school football.

His passion for athletics complements his educational work, providing students with mentorship both on and off the field.

In addition to teaching and coaching, Alexander runs his own lawn care business, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit.

He plans to eventually scale back his business to focus on coaching varsity football, aspiring to become a special teams coordinator and, ultimately, a head varsity football coach.

Together, Tamara and Alexander Ferdinand form a supportive partnership, balancing their professional ambitions with shared personal milestones.

As Tamara embarks on her new coaching role with the Sun Devil Triathlon program, Alexander continues to inspire the next generation of students and athletes in Rapid City.
