Oher and Roy’s eyes met at the University of Mississippi administration building.
While Roy worked in the registrar’s office, Oher dedicated himself to playing football for the Ole Miss Rebels.
Before being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL Draft, he graduated from the university with a degree in criminal justice.
However, the NFL legend had a hard time impressing Roy. In his memoir “When Your Back’s Against the Wall: Fame, Football, and Lessons Learned through a Lifetime of Adversity.” he mentioned that initially, his wife was neither interested in him nor his athleticism.
