Born in Prague and raised in Canada, Baumann dominated the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, securing gold medals in the 200m and 400m individual medleys, setting world records in both.

Baumann met Tracy during the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.
After getting to know each other for 6 years, the couple finally tied the knot on April 30, 1988.
Together they have raised 2 children: Ashton Baumann and Tabitha Baumann, who interestingly followed their parents’ footsteps.
The couple has faced life’s challenges together, from Alex’s battles with cancer to his demanding roles in sports administration.
Tracy has remained a steadfast support system, helping him navigate both personal and professional hurdles.
