Tadej Pogacar girlfriend, Urska Zigart, is a fellow professional cyclist. The sport’s super-couple have made some good memories cycling together.

Pogacar won Stage 6 of the 2023 Tour de France on Thursday and dedicated his victory to his girlfriend. 

Billed as the star of the Tour, the Slovenian is matching up to the expectation. With this, he became the fourth youngest rider to make it to 10 stage wins.

Tadej Pogacar is a Slovenian professional cyclist born on 21 September 1998. The Komenda, Slovenia native has taken the cycling world by storm with his remarkable achievements. 

Known for winning the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Tour de France, Pogacar recently got back to racing after a break due to a broken wrist at Liege–Bastogne–Liege.

He joined the UAE Team Emirates in May 2019, which saw his burst onto the international cycling scene.

In 2020, the rising star participated in the prestigious Tour de France and delivered an extraordinary performance. Pogacar claimed three stage victories and ultimately secured the yellow jersey.

He repeated the incredible feat in 2021 when he defended his title at the Tour de France.  Pogacar is the current men’s UCI road racing world No.1.

Urska Zigart is a professional racing cyclist from Slovenia who was born on December 4, 1996. She is also a law student.

The cyclist started racing at the age of 18 and currently rides for UCI Women’s WorldTeam Team Jayco–AlUla.

She is a three-time Slovenian National Time Trial champion winning the competition in 2020 and two years back to back in 2022 and 2023.

Zigart recently finished the Tour de Suisse, where she was just 75 m shy of snagging a win. She also participated in Tour de France Femmes in 2022.

The 2023 Slovenian time trial champion signed a deal with the Women’s World Tour team, Jayco AlUla not long ago for the 2023 season.

Zigart and Pogacar first met at a cycling training camp in Slovenia in 2017.

Being in a similar line of work and having participated in a mutual program, they quickly developed feelings for each other. Their relationship has been blossoming ever since.

Interestingly, both of them won some hardware at the 2023 Slovenian time trial championships in their respective category.

Urska Zigart: Crash And Health Update

On July 5th, 2023, Urska Zigart crashed in the Giro Donne, the women’s Tour of Italy. The unfortunate incident unfolded at Stage 6 of the tour on Wednesday.

Zigart was involved in a crash with Canyon-SRAM’s Antonia Niedermaier, and both riders were forced to abandon the Giro Donne with 30km remaining in the stage.

Niedermaier is a fellow German cyclist who was debuting at Giro Donne. Going into the 120.7km stage 6, she was victorious to take the stage 5 win and had moved into second overall.

Leading to the crash, a few riders were surrounding the German. Zigart was to the left of Niedermaier when she suddenly lost control of her bike and hurtled towards the Canyon-SRAM rider.

Zigart’s team, Jayco AlUla, released a statement on Twitter following the crash. They informed netizens that the cyclist had to abandon the race and will follow up on the update.

On the update, Jayco-AlUla confirmed that she has suffered a light concussion and skin abrasions and will be monitored by the team doctor.

However, after coming victorious on the 6th stage of the Tour de France, Pogacar said that he got all of his power from Zigart.
