Daniel Richard “Boo” Buie is an American college basketball player, currently with Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten Conference.

He started his basketball journey at Troy High School in Albany, New York. After transferring to Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, his stellar performances earned him a spot with the Northwestern Wildcats.

Buie quickly made an impact at Northwestern, playing 26 games with 11 starts during his freshman season.

His junior season was a turning point, averaging 14.1 points, 4.3 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. His performances in the Big Ten Conference solidified his position as a key player for Northwestern.

Buie reached new heights in his senior year, averaging 17.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. His outstanding contribution earned him first-team All-Big Ten Conference honors.

Boo Buie grew up with his eight siblings; among them, three are his half-siblings (two brothers and a sister) as they were born from his mother’s first marriage.

Among them is Taran Buie, his biological brother and one of his elder siblings. Born on September 28, 1991, Taran Buie is currently 34 years.

Talking more about Taran, he is also a basketball player and was one of the top 100 national swing guards as a junior. He played as a part of the State College Little Lions.

Additionally, he committed to the Pennsylvania State University for his education. However, later in his life, Taran did not continue playing basketball and shifted his career to entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, Taran is married to his wife, Keana Lofton. The couple tied the knot on a Mexican beach in October 2022.

The couple has a two-year-old son named Atreus Ra, and they are anticipating the arrival of their second child.

Talking about his father, Dan Buie is a former basketball player who achieved notable success by winning a district championship in 1991. Furthermore, he also has worked as a combo guard for the Northwestern Wildcats.
