Taylor Rockwell faced a fatal accident on November 6, 2025, and was declared brain-dead. She continued to live on through others as an organ donor.

She had been in a relationship with Cody Johnson, a former football player at Rochelle Township High School, since September 20, 2025.

Taylor Rockwell and Cody Johnson were a couple from Illinois who had built a loving family together.

Taylor was a former cheerleader at Harlem High School, and Cody played football at Rochelle Township High School.

Cody also played baseball, and after ending his playing career, he worked as a general laborer at Bruns Construction Inc.

Before her relationship with Cody, Taylor was in a relationship with a man named Devin Huffman, with whom she had two sons.

Taylor, where do I even begin? I have been trying to find the strength to know what to say, but in truth, I dont. You came into my life at my lowest and made it so much better, just like you have done with many people. You always knew what to say and when to say it. You were my first love, and that love will never fade. We were blessed with our two beautiful boys, who will never forget you. They will know how much you loved them and how amazing a mom you are. The boys will be okay, I promise. God built me to last, and I will always love you❤️

A Final Act of Love: Taylor Rockwell’s Light Lives On Through Organ Donation

Taylor Rockwell was a vibrant young woman whose light was tragically extinguished far too soon. She was a loving mother, beloved daughter, and a spirited friend.

Her journey ended, following a courageous fight for life after a devastating head-on automobile accident on November 6, 2025.

First responders found Taylor unresponsive at the scene and began life-saving CPR.

After 10 to 15 minutes without a pulse, medical professionals were able to restore her heartbeat. She was rushed into emergency surgery to remove her spleen and repair a collapsed lung.

Further scans revealed multiple broken ribs, a bladder injury, and several fractures in her pelvis. Despite the fierce fight, Taylor has been declared brain dead.

She will be remembered for her boundless energy. Her smile was a beacon of joy, and her enthusiasm was infectious.

In the midst of unimaginable grief, Taylor offers one final act of incredible generosity, the gift of life to others. She will now become an organ donor, allowing her legacy to live on.

The hospital will hold an Honor Walk for Taylor in the coming days, a solemn ceremony where staff and family line the halls to honor her as she is taken to the operating room for organ retrieval.

Taylor’s mother, Angela Rockwell, and their entire family have shown incredible strength and compassion.

The Rockwell family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of prayers and support during this difficult time.

They will soon announce the memorial service to celebrate the life of a former cheerleader.

Rest In Peace, Taylor Rockwell.
