Christopher Brignetti, a bicyclist, died of his injuries after a collision with a vehicle in San Rafael.
Christopher Brignetti, 54, born in 1971, was a mountain biking coach at Terra Linda High School.
According to Brignetti’s LinkedIn profile, he graduated from San Francisco State University in 1989 and later attended the University of California.
He served as a coach and instructor at Endurance Performance Training Center from 2005 to 2007.
Brigennti was also a general manager at Ocusun for over 4 years and 7 months. From March 2012 to October 2017, he served as a hearing aid dispenser at Whisper Hearing Center.
Since December 2017, Christopher has been working as an audiology clinical manager at San Francisco Audiology.
Bicyclist Christopher Brignetti Died At 54 Following A Collision With A Vehicle In San Rafael
A beloved high school mountain biking coach, Christopher Brignetti, was struck and killed by another vehicle while riding his bike on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
According to the San Rafael Police Department, the tragic crash occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Freitas Parkway at Lea Drive in the city’s Terra Linda district.
Officers and medics with the San Rafael Fire Department responded to the scene and started life-saving measures on the cyclist, who was later rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In a statement, City Attorney Rob Epstein said the cyclist was traveling eastbound on Freida Parkway when he struck a vehicle making a left turn from Freitas onto Lea Drive. He added,
“So far as the City is aware, there were no witnesses to the accident other than the involved parties,” “The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. “

Police said drugs and alcohol were not factors, and no arrests were made.
Tarrell Kullaway, an executive director of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition, said that the intersection has a history of crashes, and safety improvements have been long overdue.
Members of the bicycle coalition have planned to attend the San Rafael City Council meeting on July 21, 2025, to speak out about the intersection, demanding immediate action to make it safer.
A San Rafael, California, resident, Paula Glodowski-Valla, organized a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help Brignetti’s family ease the financial burden following Brignetti’s tragic loss.
The campaign aimed to collect over $100k, and it has collected around $83,240.
