Terrence Shannon Jr doesn’t seem to have a girlfriend. The Illinois star basketball player has kept his romantic life out of public sight.
Standing at 6’6, Terrence played three years at Texas Tech before joining Illinois in his senior year. Shannon played 83 career games at Texas Tech, scoring 915 points, 223 rebounds, 120 assists, and 80 steals.
Last year, the Chicago native lit up Illinois as he led the team with 17.2 points per game and was unanimous selection for the preseason all-Big Ten Team. But his promising basketball career could be headed downhill after the allegations of rape surfaced against him on Wednesday.
Shannon is said to have presented himself to the authorities in Lawrence, Kansas, where the alleged incident happened on September 8. The basketball player has been released on a $50,000 bond and has been suspended from all team activities.

The Illnois’ star player, Terrence Shannon Jr, doesn’t have a girlfriend and is currently single. The basketball player hasn’t given much detail of his romantic life on his Instagram handle.
Nowadays, social media handles have been one of the ways to see whether someone is in a relationship or not. Going through the youngster’s Instagram handle, he seemed to have his focus on his basketball career.
But many like to keep their private life out of the public eye. So, there’s a high chance that Terrence isn’t ready to show his partner to his Instagram followers.
Previously, the Illinois guard had shared a picture of his mother, Treanette Redding, on his Instagram handle. He shared the post on Mother’s Day, and it remains the only post on his Instagram handle where he has talked about his family.
But if Terrence has shied away from displaying his romantic life, his younger brother TK Shannon showed off his girlfriend to his Instagram followers.
The younger brother of Terrence Shannon Jr, TK, plays basketball for Rockledge High School. In October, TK shared a photo of him and his girlfriend heading to a homecoming event. The snap was later reshared by their father, Terrence Shannon Sr, on his Instagram handle.
Terrence Shannon Sr is a former collegiate basketball player, having played the sport at Elgin Community College. He is currently a coach at SCS Academy in Melbourne, Florida.
Terrence also has a sister named Kaileiah and is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida.
Terrence Shannon Jr Rape Charges: Suspended Announced
The 23-year-old Terrence Shannon Jr has been charged with rape for an alleged incident that happened in September. The incident took place in Kansas, where he had gone to watch the football team in action.
The University of Illinois suspended Shannon from all team activities on December 27, a day after the Douglas (Kansas) County District Attorney issued a warrant for his arrest.
Terrence wasn’t part of the school’s traveling party when the incident happened on September 8.
Illinois said on Thursday that it had been aware since late September about the charges Shannon was facing. His attorney, Mark P. Sutter, has said his client is innocent of all charges.
Sutter said that since September, Shannon has cooperated with law enforcement and declared his innocence from the beginning. The attorney added that his client voluntarily surrendered less than 24 hours after the formal charges were filed against him in Lawrence, Kansas.
