Tetairoa McMillan, known as “T-Mac,” credits his parents, Shawny McMillan and Wyatt Sr. McMillan, for all that he has achieved and is yet to achieve.

Undoubtedly, McMillan has emerged as one of the most promising wide receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft, selected eighth overall by the Carolina Panthers.

His successful rise from Waimānalo, Hawaii, to NFL stardom is attributed to his parents, Shawny McMillan and Wyatt Sr. McMillan, who have always supported him.

While his family, wearing leis, was present there to celebrate his milestone, Tetairoa’s mother, Shawny, was seen having an emotional moment after he entered the NFL draft.

Tetairoa McMillan was born on April 5, 2003, in Waimānalo, Hawaii, to Shawny and Wyatt Sr. McMillan as the youngest of their four children.

While he takes great pride in his Polynesian heritage, specific details about Shawny and Wyatt Sr.’s individual ethnic origins aren’t available.

Their Hawaiian upbringing and Tetairoa’s public acknowledgment of his Polynesian roots suggest that at least one, if not both, has Polynesian ancestry.

Shawny, in particular, has been noted for incorporating cultural elements, such as crafting leis for Tetairoa and his teammates.

Tetairoa grew up in a tight-knit and supportive household alongside his older brother, Wyatt Jr., and sisters, Alexis and Kiana.

He moved to Anaheim, California, at a young age and quickly became a standout athlete at Servite High School, where he became a five-star football recruit.

His impressive college career with the Arizona Wildcats saw him break records, earning accolades such as the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year in 2021 and the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year in 2024.

Shawny And Wyatt Sr. McMillan Have Always Been Supportive Of Tetairoa’s Career!

Tetairoa has always acknowledged his parents for his successful career. Likewise, they have also been supportive since day one and have been present with him in every milestone in his life.

One notable instance occurred around the 2025 NFL Draft, when the Carolina Panthers selected Tetairoa.

On April 25, 2025, Tetairoa was seen on the red carpet at Lambeau Field with his parents to celebrate his big day.

His mother, Shawny McMillan, in particular, has been vocal on social media about her pride in Tetairoa’s achievements, often sharing heartfelt posts that resonate with fans and followers.

One of the earliest documented instances was on August 17, 2021, when Shawny posted on Twitter, writing:

My Day My @TMAC96795 To say I am proud is an understatement! You’re my greatest blessing given from God. It’s been an honor to raise you & I stand in adoration. Continue to be the great young man that you are. 4Ever your # fan! The future is yours! LOVE YOU

More recently, Shawny’s involvement in Tetairoa’s career was highlighted during the 2024 Big 12 Media Days, where she traveled from California to create leis for Tetairoa and his Arizona teammates.

Wyatt Sr., while less active on social media, has been equally proud, though his expressions are more private.
