Grant McCasland, an American college basketball coach currently serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Texas Tech University, has raised curiosity about his personal life and family background.

Texas native Grant McCasland, who has been serving as a college head basketball coach for over two decades, has won the hearts of millions with his exceptional coaching skills.

While McCasland’s professional journey is well-known, few people know about his personal life.

Grant McCasland was born on October 14, 1976, in Irving, Texas, to father Roger and mother Linda McCasland.

When it comes to his ethnicity, Grant McCasland likely has a European heritage, with ancestral roots tracing back to Ireland. His surname, McCasland, is commonly associated with Scottish-Irish lineage.

However, McCasland hasn’t yet shared any information about his ethnicity and family background.

Grant McCasland is married to former Texas Tech soccer star Cece Dillon

The former North Texas head basketball coach Grant McCasland first started dating his wife, Cece Dillon, while pursuing his master’s in science degree and serving as the director of operations at Texas Tech.

Cece and Grant, both residents of Irving, Texas, were friends from a young age. However, their relationship took a romantic turn when they reconnected at Texas Tech.

Cece Dillon is also an alum of Texas Tech and a former soccer star who played for the university’s women’s soccer team, the Red Raiders.

She was one of eight Red Raider soccer players named to the Academic All-Big 12 soccer team in 1998. Cece played for the Raiders from 1996 to 1999.

Moreover, in March 2005, she earned the first annual Allison Horn Memorial Award for her exceptional contribution to Texas Tech’s soccer team.

The couple got married in 2001, shortly after Grant graduated from Texas Tech.

Grant and his wife Cece are not just great athletes but also amazing parents to their four children, including two daughters, Amaris and Jersey, and two sons, Jett and Beckett.

Both of their sons, Jett and Beckett, are following in their father Grant’s footsteps in basketball.

Jett McCasland is a 5’9” combo guard in the 2025 class of Trinity Christian High School in Lubbock, Texas, and also plays club basketball for 3D Empire.

Similarly, Beckett, like his elder brother, plays for the Trinity Christian High School men’s basketball team and is part of the class of 2029. He also plays club basketball for 3D Empire.

Talking about their daughters, while very little information about their younger daughter, Jersey, is available as she prefers to maintain a low profile, their eldest daughter, Amaris, is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Baylor University, her father’s alma mater.

Amaris is enrolled in the BSW program at the Garland School of Social Work and aims to follow her passion for helping people.

Moreover, her Instagram profile shows that she is very interested in photography and enjoys serving in her church and playing intramurals with friends.
