Lauren Allred, a rising star for Texas Tech Softball, has captured the hearts of fans during the 2025 Women’s College World Series (WCWS).
Born on September 29, 2003, in Texarkana, Texas, Lauren grew up in a tight-knit family with her parents, Matt and Patricia Allred, and her two brothers, Connor and Brenden.

Lauren’s hard work in the classroom matched her athletic prowess, as she graduated in the top 10 percent of her class and earned all-academic team honors all four years in both sports.
Her standout performance in high school caught the attention of local media.
In 2019, Fox Sports Texarkana named her both Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year on its Texarkana City All-Star Team.
These accolades were just the beginning of Lauren’s journey to becoming a household name in softball.
Before arriving at Texas Tech, Lauren played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette.
Her time there wasn’t without challenges.
In her sophomore year, she appeared in 15 games, collecting five RBIs before an injury cut her season short.
Despite the setback, Lauren’s talent shone through. She earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt First Team and the NFCA All-Central Region Second Team, proving she could compete with the best.
Now a redshirt sophomore at Texas Tech, standing at 5’9”, Lauren has found her groove.
Her strength and determination, supported by her family, have made her an important player for the Red Raiders.

Her clutch performances have helped propel the Red Raiders to new heights.
In a thrilling 3-2 victory, Lauren delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly, securing the game-winning RBI and sending Texas Tech to the WCWS finals.
That hit ended Oklahoma’s dynasty run and cemented her as a hero in Lubbock.
She went 1-for-2 at the plate with one RBI in that game, showcasing her ability to perform under pressure.
In another game, a 3-1 win, Lauren contributed a leadoff single in the fifth inning, one of just four hits for Texas Tech.
Her defensive skills were also on display, as she fielded a grounder to get the Red Raiders out of a tough inning.
In yet another standout moment, she recorded the first hit of the game in the fourth inning, setting up a 1-0 lead with a run scored by teammate Alana Johnson.
