The Lions quarterback, Jared Goff, grew up alongside his only sibling, Lauren Butts, in California. The two siblings share a close bond and love listening to “cheesy pop.”
The 30 —year-old quarterback attended the University of California, where he played for three years, scoring 96 touchdowns and completing 12,195 yards.
The Rams drafted Goff as the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. With the Rams, Goff made two Pro Bowl teams before moving to the Detroit Lions in 2021.
From being called a draft bust with the Rams, Goff has ascended into an NFL star with the Lions.
He currently leads the league in completion percentage and is only behind the Ravens QB Lamar Jackson in yards per passing attempt.
On Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers, Goff orchestrated a 34-31 victory, solidifying the Lions as the NFC’s top contender.
Jared Goff set a historical record during the crunch win over the Packers. He became the first QB in NFL history to complete passes to six or more players in a game, with each target hauling in at least five receptions.
The win over the Packers marked the Lions’ 11th consecutive win, a franchise record. If the Lions maintain this pace, they will secure home-field advantage through the playoffs.
Jared Goff And His Sibling, Lauren Butts Are Huge Fans Of Pop Music
Jared Goff and his sibling, Lauren Butts, have similar tastes in music. It’s not that often a brother and sister pair share the same playlist. But the Goff siblings just happen to do that.
In 2016, the Goff family was featured in the HBO training camp series Hard Knocks. The series showed Jared’s unseen life off the football field.
The story was later covered by the Los Angeles Times. In the second episode of Hard Knocks, Jared was quizzed about which Justin he liked better: Bieber or Timberlake.

After thinking for a while, Jared replied, “Bieber.” The former Rams quarterback said it was only because Bieber was closer to his age.
But Lauren gave more scoop about Jared’s preference. The older sibling said:
Lauren also added that she had recently recommended a Pitbull song to her brother. The QB assured his sister he would check it out.
Not only does Jared enjoy listening to pop artists, but he also has no problem going to their concerts as well.
In 2016, the QB attended a Taylor Swift concert with his grandmom, mom and sister. In an interview with ESPN, Jared also talked a bit about meeting Taylor Swift.
Jared said Taylor Swift was probably the coolest celebrity he had met. He was certainly ahead of Travis Kelce, but it was just the wrong time.
Lauren Butts Is A Social Worker And A UCLA Alumna
Jared Goff and his sister, Lauren, have had different career paths.
Lauren graduated from UCLA in 2014 with a degree in international development and later received her master’s degree in social work.
While completing her master’s, Lauren made three extended trips to Africa, including working at a girls’ high school in Kenya.
In her interview with the Times, Lauren said she had an interest in rehabilitating the victims of human trafficking.
The older sibling isn’t active on social media like her younger brother. In recent years, she hasn’t given any interviews, but during Goff’s rookie season, Lauren expressed how proud she is of her brother.
Lauren said she had tears streaming down her face when Jared ran onto the Coliseum (previous stadium of the Rams) field before the game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The UCLA Alumna is married to Mason Butts, and the two are parents to a baby girl. In 2017, Jared shared an Instagram post congratulating his sister and brother-in-law for their wedding.
Jared and Lauren’s mom, Nancy Goff, has shared a sweet picture of the Butts family on her Facebook profile.
