A Football Player Asked for Forgiveness for His Hurtful Behavior After Years of Guilt For Bullying A Classmate With a Speech Disability!
A woman named Pat Campbell shared a powerful story on Facebook about her childhood experience with bullying.
She was reacting to a news story about a second-grade teacher who allegedly mocked a student with a speech disability.
Pat explained that she was born with a speech handicap. She remembered how painful it was to be teased, not just by other kids, but by a teacher who made fun of her in front of the class.
She said that things improved in junior high, where she was treated equally and had fun with her friends.
However, there was one popular football player who frequently teased her and often made her cry.
Years later, after they had both grown up, Pat received a phone call from that same football player.
He had become a successful lawyer, but his first child was born with a severe disability and sadly passed away.
He asked to meet with Pat, and during their conversation, he broke down in tears and begged her to forgive him.
Additionally, he told her he felt deep guilt and believed that his past cruelty had come back to him.
Pat forgave him and used the moment to share an important message:
What Goes Around Come Around it may be years BUT your child could be hurt and become handicap or one of your grandchild can be born with a handicap so think about it before you bully someone !!!! God has been Good to me and Blessed me in so many ways i love God and so happy i have Him in my life
She warned others to think before they bully someone, because life can bring unexpected pain to their own children or grandchildren.
Pat ended her post by saying she feels blessed and thankful to have God in her life.
She shared that despite everything she went through, her faith has helped her heal and stay strong.
Life has a way of teaching lessons, sometimes through experiences we never expect.
Choose kindness, always.
