The American legendary golfer Sam Snead passed away in 2002. However, Sam Snead is survived by two kids, Sam J. Snead Jr. and Terry Snead.

Sam Snead was a legendary American professional golfer.

Furthermore, he was considered one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Sam Snead won a record 82 PGA Tour events, a mark he shares with another legendary golfer, Tiger Woods.

Born on May 27, 1912, in Ashwood, Virginia, Snead’s career spanned several decades, starting in the 1930s and continuing well into the 80s.

Despite his success, Sam Snead never won the U.S. Open, the only major that eluded him.

However, Sam Snead did win seven major championships in total.

Sadly, Sam Snead passed away on May 23, 2002, leaving a lasting impact on golf and inspiring generations of golfers.

Sam Snead Was Survived By His Two Kids

Sam Snead had two sons: Sam Snead Jr. and Terry Snead.

Though neither of them became professional golfers like their father, they very much shared a passion for the sport.

Both sons have worked to preserve their father’s legacy, celebrating his iconic status.

Sam Snead Jr., in particular, has been heavily involved in events and efforts honoring his father, including sharing stories from Snead’s career.

He shared memories of his father’s friendship with iconic figures such as Gene Sarazen, Dwight Eisenhower, and more.

Furthermore, Sam Snead Jr. often defends his father’s legacy.

He recalled instances where historical records were altered to his father’s detriment.

For example, the PGA Tour reclassified some of Snead’s tournament wins based on updated criteria, reducing his official victory count from 94 to 82.

Additionally, he has also been a licensed real estate agent since 1983.

On the other hand, Terry Snead, although very much less in the public eye, must surely respect his father’s legacy and contribution to golf.

Terry Snead maintained a much quieter life compared to his father’s legendary golf career.

Living in Mountain Grove, Virginia, Terry Snead continued to stay close to the Snead family’s roots in the Hot Springs area.

Furthermore, Terry Snead faced cognitive challenges that probably impacted his life.

Terry Snead has avoided the limelight, with less information available on his personal life, or his involvement in golf.
