The retired Detroit Red Wings star Chris Chelios and his wife Tracee Chelios have kept their relationship low-key and out of the limelight. This could well be the reason behind their steadfast relationship.
The three-time Stanley Cup winner, Chris Chelios, began his NHL journey with the Montreal Canadiens in 1984.
Chelios won his first Stanley Cup in 1986 and remained with the Canadiens for the next four years before moving to the Blackhawks.
Chelios didn’t win a single Stanley Cup with Chicago but enjoyed his prime years with them.
During his time with the Blackhawks, Chelios won two James Norris Memorial Trophy, an accolade given to the top defenseman in the league.
He joined the Detroit Red Wings in 1999 and won two Stanley Cups, bringing his tally to three.
Since retiring in 2010, Chelios has tried broadcasting and becoming an entrepreneur. He is currently an ambassador for the Chicago Blackhawks and has returned to Chicago with his family.
Chris Chelios And Wife Tracee Chelios Are College Sweethearts
The Blackhawks legend Chris Chelios met his wife Tracee Chelios at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The two tied the knot in 1987, just three years after Chris joined the league and established himself as one of the best players.
Unlike many WAGs of the sporting world, Tracee has kept herself out of the media frenzy, letting her husband do all the talking on and off the field.
Chris might be available on Instagram, but his wife, Tracee, has stayed away from the photo/video-sharing platform.
Previously, in a 2018 interview with Detroit Free Press, when asked which former Red Wings player he is in touch with, Chelios said,
Speaking to the official NHL website, in February 2024, Chris revealed he and Tracee are building a new home in Chicago.
The legend said he and his wife are preparing their new home for another generation of the Chelios family to be raised in and call Chicago home.
Several photos of Chris can be seen on his daughter, Caley Chelios’ Instagram page, but Tracee is nowhere to be seen. It looks like Tracee doesn’t want to keep up with the new world of technology.
