Mike Modano’s Wife, Allison Modano, Is the Daughter of a Hockey Legend!
Hockey wasn’t something new for Allison when she met and married Mike.
Allison is the daughter of Joe Micheletti, the television analyst of MSG Network for New York Rangers.
Before hopping into the media world, Joe played the sport and was part of his high school hockey team, Hibbing/Chisholm High.
He later played for the University of Minnesota and played defense for the World Hockey Association team Calgary Cowboys.
After the Calgary Cowboys folded in 1997, Joe played for the Edmonton Oilers before he was traded to St Louis Blues in 1979.
Joe’s hockey career ended in 1982, with his last move being to Austria to play for WAT Stadlau.
With the strong presence of a hockey father in her life, Allison was also drawn into sports.
She enjoyed playing basketball and soccer before she tore her ALC at age 16, which made her switch to golf.
Allison played golf at Furman University and later at Arizona State University.
In a New York Daily News article, Allison, who had turned into a pro-golfer at the time, said she hopes to make it to the LPGA one day.
Allison appeared as a contestant on Golf Channel’s reality series, Big Break Atlantis, and finished seventh.
The more recent Athletic article mentioned that Allison currently plays hockey and was part of an all women’s hockey team in Utah before the family moved to Minnesota.

Before tying the knot with Allision, Mike had exchanged vows with actress Willa Ford.

A golf psychologist in Florida set up the former NHL star with Allison.
Allison was working with the psychologist, and one day, he said he had one of his students coming to town to play nine holes with her.
That student was Mike, an avid golf fan. In The Athletic article, Mike mentions the psychologist telling him he will marry Allision.
The article also mentions Allison’s conversation with the psychologist. She said in her conversation that Mike is one of his dad’s favorite people.
Joe finds out Mike is dating his daughter when the hockey player arrives in New York at Christmas.
The two tied the knot in September 2013 at Hotel Joule in Dallas, a year after they first met.
Since their wedding, the couple has become parents to five kids-Jack, Kate, Reese, Luca, and Quinn.
Modano has shared his appreciation for his wife running the show. Mike said:
The large family moved from Arizona to Minnesota permanently in 2023.
Mike mentioned that his son Jack had caught the hockey bug and had started playing the sport after arriving in Minnesota.
His twin sister, Kate, and the other kids have followed his lead and love to play hockey and skate.
But there is a golf lover among the five kids as well. Reese loves playing golf, and Allison says she and Mike haven’t pushed their kids to pursue sports; it just comes genetically to them.
