LaDainian Tomlinson, the former NFL running back, has been married to his wife, LaTorsha Oakley, since 2003.

Born on June 23, 1979, in Rosebud, Texas, Tomlinson developed his football talent at University High School in Waco before earning a scholarship to Texas Christian University (TCU).

At TCU, he broke the NCAA single-game rushing record with 406 yards and won the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back during his senior year.

Selected fifth overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2001 NFL Draft, Tomlinson signed a six-year, $38 million rookie contract and quickly became one of the NFL’s top running backs.

He set a remarkable record of seven consecutive seasons with over 1,200 rushing yards, a feat matched only by Eric Dickerson.

Tomlinson’s career peak came in 2006, when he set NFL records for rushing touchdowns (28), total touchdowns (31), and points scored in a single season, earning him league MVP honors.

Moreover, he also caught 624 career receptions and threw seven touchdown passes, adding to his dynamic offensive impact.

In 2004, Tomlinson signed an eight-year, $60 million contract extension, further solidifying his place as the face of the Chargers franchise.

Over his nine seasons with the Chargers, he led the league in rushing yards twice and ended his career ranked fifth in NFL history with 13,684 rushing yards.

Tomlinson then played two seasons with the New York Jets before retiring in 2012.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017 and is celebrated as one of the most prolific and versatile running backs in NFL history.

Beyond his on-field achievements, Tomlinson was also famous for his leadership and character, winning the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2006.

LaDainian and LaTorsha Tomlinson’s Journey From College Sweethearts to Raising Two Kids

LaDainian Tomlinson met his future wife, LaTorsha Oakley, during their college years at Texas Christian University (TCU).

After dating for several years, the couple married on March 21, 2003.

They have been happily together for over two decades, building a strong and loving partnership.

Their journey has not been without challenges. In 2005, the couple faced the heartbreak of a miscarriage when LaTorsha was six months pregnant.

After the miscarriage, they decided to take a break from trying for children.

In 2009, LaTorsha surprised Tomlinson in a memorable and heartwarming way.

Before a game against the Philadelphia Eagles, she left a gift in his locker – a positive pregnancy test with a note that read, “Pregnant.”

On July 8, 2010, the couple welcomed their son, Daylen. Just a year later, in 2011, they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Dayah.

For Tomlinson, LaTorsha has always been his greatest source of strength and encouragement.

She stood by him during his college football days and continued to support him throughout his legendary NFL career.

Professionally, LaTorsha is a gospel singer and songwriter who has released several singles, including “Keep Me,” “Supa Baddd,” “Texas Girl,” and “In My Skin.”

Despite her professional endeavours, LaTorsha maintains a low profile and values her privacy when it comes to her personal life.

As of now, Tomlinson and his family are enjoying quality time together. In 2022, Tomlinson shared glimpses of their family vacation on Instagram.

He also celebrated Mother’s Day that year by posting heartfelt photos of LaTorsha, honoring her role as a loving mother and partner.

Their relationship showcases the power of love, perseverance, and steadfast support, offering inspiration to many.
