Tiare Jennings’s Parents are the biggest fan of the softball player. They not only gave her a competitive mindset but also taught her humility.

Tiare Rose Jennings is an American college softball player born June 5, 2002. She plays for the Oklahoma Sooners in the United States.

Jennings was unanimously named an NFCA First-Team All-American and elected NFCA Freshman of the Year. Further, she was voted Softball America Freshman of the Year as a freshman in 2021.

Firstly, the player attended St. Anthony High School in Long Beach, California. She was named the 2017 Southern Section Division 6 Player of the Year in her freshman year.

Moreover, Jennings also collected First Team All-CIF and All-State honors as a freshman. Her high school career concluded with batting .581 to go with 111 hits, 61 RBIs, and 16 home runs.

The 2019-20 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for the state of California, Jennings was ranked as the nation’s No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2020 by Extra Inning Softball’s Elite 100 list.

On February 11, 2021, Jennings made her collegiate debut for Oklahoma. Thereafter, she played 122 games over the 2021 and 2022 seasons as a Sooners player.

Tiare Jennings Parents: Ignacio And Maria Jennings

Tiare was born to her parents, Maria and Ignacio Jennings, in Torrance, California. However, she grew up in San Pedro along with two siblings, Elai and Fa’atele.

Although her parents are Mexican immigrants, they moved to California and raised her. But, the player has not spoken publicly about her upbringing.

As a result, there isn’t a lot of information available about her parents. So, it is hard to tell about their profession and how they make a living.

In light of the social media accounts of Maria and Ignacio, we can ascertain that Tiare comes from a sports-loving household. Therefore, she has a lot of parental support.

Ignacio appears to be a god-loving family man. He married his best friend and views life in a positive light, as mentioned in his Twitter bio.

Maria, on the other hand, feels blessed for the family that she has. She is a busy mom, and most of her time goes into supporting her kids and managing their schedules.

Both parents are active on their social networks, as their Twitter handle is filled with posts about the Sooners and other sports.

They celebrate every little achievement of their daughter, let it be hitting a home run or securing a catch.

Recently, Maria and Ignacio wished the athlete a happy 21st birthday. They have always been an inspiration for Tiare and are the backbone behind her early success.

How Tiare Chose The Path To Softball?

The player’s parents used to take the 4-year-old Tiare to their local park in their Los Angeles suburb of San Pedro.

Then they would set up the tee, placing the wiffle ball on top, and handed her the plastic bat.

As we all know, the rest is history for Jennings, nonetheless. Interestingly, Tiare was also invested in soccer as a child, given that she scored six goals in the first game of her life.

When it was time to commit to one of the sports, Ignacio and Maria made her choose between softball and soccer. Regardless, Tiare chose softball, which was driven by her love for the game.

Later, Jennings joined Oklahoma University despite UCLA being her parents’ favorite team and the local school. She was adamant about joining the Sooners after her first camp at OU.

Not to mention, she indeed joined OU after convincing her parents that she’d be successful wherever she decided to go to school. Now, her parents are seen cheering her on from the sidelines in every game.
