Tim Kurkjian Brother: Andy And Matt
The Kurkjian brothers shared a passion for baseball from an early age. They grew up in a supportive environment that encouraged their athletic pursuits.
As their father was a really good player, he taught his three sons to play and love the game.
Meet Andy Kurkjian
Andrew “Andy” Kurkjian, the eldest of the three brothers, was a standout baseball player at Catholic University from 1971 to 1975.
His dedication to the sport was evident from his exceptional performance. Andy’s impressive statistics made him a revered figure in the Cardinals’ baseball program.
Off the field, Andy pursued a degree in Bachelor of Science. He went on to graduate with a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering.
Likewise, Andy made a career in Research and New Product Development for Schlumberger from 1978 to 2004.
Similarly, he served as the President of Oilfield Technology Needs Assessment and OTNA Services. He also held the position of Director of Engineering for multiple companies.
Lastly, Andy joined GR Energy Services in 2017. He was an Independent Contractor for the company until October of 2022.
Meet Matt Kurkjian
Matt, following in his elder brother’s footsteps, also attended Catholic University and became a star player for the Cardinals.
His skill on the field, particularly as a power-hitting third baseman, earned him a place among the university’s baseball legends.
In his junior year, the 1977 CU team won the ECAC Division I Championship, beating heavily favored St. John’s.
While his playing career was exceptional, it was Matt’s resilience and determination that truly set him apart.
