On October 16, 1941, James Timothy McCarver took birth to his parents, Edward McCarver and Alice McCarver, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tim’s professional career began at just 17 when the St. Louis Cardinals took him under their wings to develop him.

To explain, Tim won two World Series in 1964 and 1967, playing as the starting catcher in both those series. Furthermore, Tim also became a two-time All-Star in 1966 and 1967.

Tim returned to his former franchise, St. Loius Blues, during the 1973-74 season.

But, sadly, he could never replicate what he achieved during his time with the Blues. As a result, Tim retired from the game in 1979 to focus on his broadcasting career.

Upon his retirement, McCarver became the 29th player in MLB’s history to play in four decades.
