Tim Tebow, an American former professional football quarterback in the NFL and founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation, has always had his parents’ support through good and difficult times.

Tim Tebow, a Florida Football Ring of Honor inductee, was born Timothy Richard Tebow on August 14, 1987, in Makati, Philippines, to missionary parents Pamela Elaine and Robert Ramsey Jr. Tebow.

His parents are avid football lovers who guided and supported Tim Tebow in becoming one of the NFL’s most renowned players, standing by him through both good and difficult times.

Tim’s father, Robert, played football for God Squad, reaching three U.F. intramural championship games, and guided him in his sports journey.

Pamela and Robert also instilled a love for Christianity and a spirit of philanthropy in their youngest son, Tim Tebow, who now leads a foundation that provides faith, hope, and love to some of the world’s most vulnerable people.

Moreover, Tim Tebow’s parents, Pamela Elaine and Robert Ramsey Jr., first met each other while attending the University of Florida in 1968.

Tim’s mother, Pam, was a freshman when she met his father, Robert ‘Bob’, a sophomore, through a Christian group he started.

Pam and Bob, both sharing a faith in Christianity, quickly connected and became friends.

Likewise, a year later, Tim Tebow’s parents, Pamela and Robert, went on their first date to the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville, when his mother was in her junior year.

Similarly, after dating for almost three years, Pamela skipped her graduation to tie the knot with Robert.

Pamela Elaine and Robert Ramsey II married on June 12, 1971, and have been happily married for over five decades, and are proud parents of five children.

Tim Tebow’s parents raised him alongside his four elder siblings, including two sisters, Kathryn and Christine Tebow, and two brothers, Robby and Peter Tebow, who are all excelling in their respective careers.

Tim Tebow’s Father, Robert Ramsey Tebow II, Has Been In Ministry For Over 40 Years

Tim Tebow’s father, Robert Tebow, started his ministry work after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in health and human performance in 1971.

Born on January 27, 1948, his interest in and faith in Christianity grew after he attended a Young Life conference at Christmas 1964.

Robert also founded Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Florida, beginning his life in ministry.

Similarly, he earned a Master of Divinity in 1974 and a Master of Theology in 1976 from Western Seminary, Portland Campus.

After graduating, Robert served as an associate pastor at Southside Baptist Church for three years.

He then became the senior pastor at Cornerstone Community Church before selling his properties in Portland and relocating to the Philippines.

Before Tim Tebow’s birth, his parents, along with his four elder siblings, moved to the Philippines in 1985 to serve as missionaries.

While in the Philippines, Tim Tebow’s parents established an Orphanage, Uncle Dick’s Home which they have been running since 1991. Robert also established a safe house for rescued girls and children in the Philippines.

The Tebows lived for years in the Philippines, where Robert continues to have an ongoing ministry, the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association, which supports 57 nationals who preach the gospel throughout the Philippines and stimulate church planting.

Trusting God Over Doctors, Pamela Elaine Tebow Chose Life For Her Son Tim Tebow

All thanks to Tim Tebow’s mother, Pamela Elaine Tebow, who chose to keep him despite doctors suggesting she abort him.

Pamela Elaine’s struggles and sacrifices led her youngest and fifth child, Tim Tebow, to gain fame in sports.

Furthermore, when the Tebow family moved to the Philippines, Pamela Tebow became ill with amoebic dysentery, usually transmitted through contaminated drinking water, which resulted in her temporary coma.

She was given several strong drugs to combat the infection, which resulted in severe placental abruption. This condition occurs when the placenta detaches from the uterine wall, depriving the fetus of oxygen and other essential nutrients.

While still in the hospital, the doctors discovered that Pamela was pregnant and decided to stop the medication. However, they advised her to consider an abortion, as continued use of the high doses had likely caused damage to the fetus and posed a serious risk to her life.

However, despite the doctor’s suggestion, Pamela refused the abortion because of her faith that she would be able to give birth to a healthy child.

Pam Tebow went to Manila, the capital, during her seventh month and remained under the best rest, eventually giving birth to a healthy child, Tim Tebow.

“I’m so grateful that my mom gave me a chance at life, she could have made the choice to do something different, but because of her pro-life story, I now get to share my story, every single life matters to God.”

Furthermore, Pam Tebow, now a proud mother of Tim Tebow and a healthy individual, motivates several women with her story.

Appearing on shows like “Good Morning America” and other talk shows, Pamela has also won National awards, including the “Hope and a Future” in 2010, Eagle Forum’s “Woman of the Year” and “Witness in the Public Square” in 2012.
