Toby competed in the Nike Hoop Summit and recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds for the World Select team. ESPN rated her a five-star recruit, and she committed to play college basketball for Duke.

She was the Blue Devils’ leading scorer this season and the ACC Freshman of the Year. However, she wasn’t on the court during a critical possession near the end of Duke’s Elite Eight matchup against South Carolina.

It was a really good freshman season for me and overall good season for our team as well.I feel like I came into Duke right at the perfect time because of the way that we’re playing and the direction we’re going.

Toby Fournier’s mother, Anais Granofsky, was born to an African American mother and a Canadian father in Springfield, Ohio.

She debuted in the entertainment industry as a child actor in 1985, portraying Sophie of the Mighty Mites on Owl TV.

Later, she appeared in the Canadian children’s television series The Kids of Degrassi Street.

Anais gained recognition for her portrayal of Lucy Fernandez in Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High from 1987 to 1991. She was also featured in the 1992 series finale television movie School’s Out.

Over the years, she has made guest appearances in various television series, including Counterstrike, Forever Knight, and Goosebumps.

She pursued film studies at NYU and moved to New York. Upon returning to Toronto, she continued acting for the next decade.

Beyond acting, Anais demonstrated her talent as a writer and director. Her film credits include On Their Knees and The Limb Salesman. Additionally, she directed episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation, Bliss, and Da Kink in My Hair.

She married Craig Fournier and is a proud mother of three children, including basketball player Toby Fournier.
