The first African-American head coach for Osceola High School’s football team, Greg Johnson, passed away in a car accident at the age of 42.

The tragic news of Coach Greg Johnson’s passing was first shared by Tomball Memorial High School.

They announced it through an emotional post on their official social media account.

Greg Johnson’s Life Was Cut Short In A Fatal Car Accident, Leaving Behind His Wife, Sarah, And Their Two Children!

Originally from Austin, Texas, Gregory Johnson was a beloved football and track coach at Tomball Memorial High School in Tomball, Texas.

He dedicated his life to mentoring young athletes and coaching sports like football and track and field.

His coaching philosophy emphasized discipline, teamwork, and personal growth, leaving a lasting impact on his players.

Before his coaching career, he played college football and other games. His time as a player laid the foundation for later success as a coach.

Beyond his professional achievements, Greg was a devoted husband and a father figure.

He had a deep love for his wife and their children, and together, they built a warm and joyful home filled with love and support.

His memory lives on through the beautiful family he created.

The Tomball Memorial High School community is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Coach Greg Johnson.

Parents of the Tomball HS shared that Greg was their children’s favorite coach, saying:

My son’s favorite coach. He made such an impact on him, recognized his potential, encouraged him, and coached him up. He is the reason my son showed so much versatility this year. Such a loss for our Wildcat family.

Additionally, Coach Cary expressed his admiration for Greg Johnson, saying:

I wish we could hire 20 Greg Johnsons! He will be missed, but his light will continue to shine bright at TMHS!

His untimely passing has left a deep void in the lives of those he inspired and mentored.

In his memory, a scholarship fund was established to support aspiring student-athletes at Tomball Memorial High School.
