Tommie Reynolds had a beautiful love story with Penni, staying together from their marriage until his last breath.

Born on August 15, 1941, Tommie was an American Major League Baseball outfielder and coach. He was primarily an outfielder but also served as a pinch hitter.

During his career from 1963 to 1972, he played for teams such as the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, California Angels, and Milwaukee Brewers.

After retiring as a player, Reynolds transitioned into coaching and became a bench coach for the Oakland Athletics.

Tragically, Tommie Reynolds passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 83.

Tommie Reynolds met his wife, Penni, in Daytona Beach. While the exact date when the beautiful pair met is under wraps, they eventually married after a period of dating.

Together, they had two children: a son, Tommie Jr., and a daughter, Tanya.

From the day they met until Tommie’s final moments, Penni stood by his side. She supported him throughout his life and career.

As he was private about his personal life, his achievements throughout his career are remarkable and worth celebrating.

Tommie Reynolds had a notable journey in Major League Baseball, debuting in 1963 with the Kansas City Athletics.

His most active season was in 1969 with the Oakland Athletics, during which he played 107 games and achieved a batting average of .257.

Moreover, his career highlights include several standout performances, such as two four-hit games and a memorable three-run homer against All-Star pitcher Mickey Lolich in 1964.

He also excelled in the Midwest League in 1963, leading in batting average (.332) and tying for the league lead in RBIs (88).

After retiring as a player, he served as a bench coach for the Oakland Athletics. He was part of the coaching staff that led the team to victory in the 1989 World Series.

Later, he joined Tony La Russa’s staff with the St. Louis Cardinals and contributed to their success in the mid-1990s.

Tommie Reynolds leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Penni (62 years old); his son, Tommie Jr., who is married to Heather; and his daughter, Tanya, who is married to Carlos.
