The Mississippi community lost a shining star, Cameron D.“Big Cam” Woodall, in a tragic accident on June 7, 2025, at Night.

The 27-year-old Tougaloo College basketball star, known for his height of 6’6 and competitiveness, left a legacy of love and kindness that touched many lives.

The details of the Cameron Woodall accident remain unclear, but the impact of his passing has rippled through his family, friends, and the entire Bulldog Nation.

Cameron Woodall, Born And Raised In Raymond, Mississippi, Was Destined For Basketball Greatness

At Raymond High School, he donned the #5 jersey, a number that held deep personal meaning.

It was the same number worn by his older brother, a talented high school basketball player at Tier High School, whose life was tragically cut short due to involvement with the wrong crowd.

Cameron’s choice to wear #5, along with a necklace bearing the number, was a heartfelt tribute to his brother’s memory.

The loss of his sibling was a deep shock to Cameron, but it filled his determination to honor his family through his passion for basketball.

His high school career earned him accolades like All-District First Team and Basketball All-State Team.

After graduating in 2018, he took his skills to Copiah-Lincoln Community College before transferring to Grambling State University, where he majored in Criminal Justice.

Ultimately, he found his home at Tougaloo College, playing as a forward for the Tougaloo Bulldogs in the NCAA’s Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC).

In 2021, Cameron was named GCAC Player of the Week, and his trophy case boasted honors like 2x All-GCAC 2nd Team and MACJC 2nd Team All-State.

Nicknamed “Big Cam” for his commanding stature and energetic personality, Cameron was more than an athlete.

He was a friend, a brother, and a beacon of joy. Tougaloo Athletics described him as having a “larger-than-life presence” and a “kind-hearted spirit.”

His influence spread beyond the scoreboard, leaving a memorable mark on everyone he met.

Whether he was dunking on opponents or sharing a laugh with teammates, Cameron’s passion and warmth were infectious.

Stephanie Foster, who met Cameron at Raymond High School in 2016, recalled his extraordinary talent and humble demeanor.

“Raymond High has been home to many great basketball stars over the years, and Cameron was truly one of them. His passion for the game was evident every time he stepped on the court. After high school, he continued to shine as a student-athlete at Tougaloo College.
Life is truly precious and unpredictable.Sadly, Cameron’s promising life was cut short in an accident last night. He has left a deep void in the hearts of everyone who knew him. For his mother, this is an unbearable echo of loss. She had already endured the tragedy of losing Cameron’s brother years earlier.

The shared #5 jersey and Cameron’s necklace were symbols of their unbreakable bond, a way for Cameron to carry his brother’s memory forward.

The Cameron Woodall accident, reportedly involving a four-wheeler, has left Mississippi reeling.

Social media posts show the community’s sadness, as Co-Lin Athletics offers condolences to Cameron’s family and teammates.

The love from coaches and teammates highlights the gap left by Cameron’s absence.

His journey from a standout at Raymond High to a celebrated Tougaloo Bulldog inspired young athletes across the state.

Despite personal tragedy, he channeled his pain into purpose, becoming a role model for perseverance and heart.

His GCAC honors, All-State recognition, and exciting performances made him a Mississippi legend, but it was his kindness and ability to brighten a room that truly set him apart.

As the community mourns the Cameron Woodall accident, they also celebrate his life.

From the courts of Mississippi to the international leagues he dreamed of, Cameron’s passion for basketball was limitless.

His memory lives on in every jump shot, every smile, and every #5 jersey worn in his honor.
