Dale Luckett, who coached his children’s youth football and track teams, has passed away at the age of 88.
He was born on August 30, 1937, in Bronte, Coke County, Texas, to his father, George Dewey “G.D.” Luckett, and Mattie Mae Collins Luckett.
Luckett graduated from Bronte High School in 1955 and went on to attend Angelo State University, Sul Ross State University, and Stephen F. Austin State University before being drafted into the United States Army.
He started his career working at a gas processing plant in Silver, Texas, before moving to Amarillo, Texas, where he joined Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance Company as a Boiler Inspector.
Dale dedicated 43 years to his work with HSB, retiring at the remarkable age of 75.
He coached his children’s youth football and track teams and later continued coaching other young athletes, sharing his time, encouragement, and wisdom with many.

The sources confirmed that Dale Luckett passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 88.
However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.
Several close ones and relatives have offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Dale’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.
As per Dale’s family, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of Dale Luckett’s life will be announced at a later date.

Dale is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann Luckett of San Angelo, his son, Shane of Baytown, his daughter, Stormy Vaughn, and her husband, Bruce Vaughn of Bronte.
He is also survived by his grandsons, Peyton Luckett and Colton Luckett of Baytown.
Dale was preceded by his siblings, Pat Bryan Oglesby, Billy Joe Luckett, Helen Murtishaw, Joy McDaniel, and Dewey Luckett.
