Chase Liebler, a resident of Lexington County, South Carolina, tragically passed away at the age of 36 on September 6, 2025, following a car accident on Old Cherokee Road.
His loss has left a lasting impact on family, friends, and the community.
Master Trooper Brandon Bolt reported that a 2020 Ford SUV headed east on Old Cherokee Road near Foxglen Road went off the road, hit a mailbox, and ended up back on the road.
The Ford collided head-on with a westbound 2016 Infiniti SUV.
The Infiniti’s driver, the only occupant of that vehicle, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While the driver (Chase) of the Ford, who was also the only occupant, d*ed at the scene.
Coroner Margaret Fisher confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Trooper Bolt stated that the crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is handling further details regarding the deceased driver.

Remembering Chase Liebler: A Life Full of Passion, Sports, and Love
Chase Liebler was born on July 5, 1989, in Columbia, South Carolina, to his parents, Steven M. Liebler and Debbie Ropp Liebler.
He graduated from Dutch Fork High School in 2007 and had played on the golf team since seventh grade.
Golf was Chase’s lifelong passion. He started playing as a junior, caddied for friends, and even spent time on the Korn Ferry Tour in the Bahamas.
As a child, he also played baseball, soccer, and basketball, but golf remained his favorite sport.
Chase earned a degree in Sports and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina in 2011.
While at USC, he played on the men’s golf team and joined the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
Chase started his career with internships at Empire Sports Management in Columbia, the Pennsylvania Golf Association, and as a PJ Boatwright Intern with the Golf Association of Philadelphia.
He later worked as the Tournament Office Coordinator at Pinehurst Resort and as the Assistant Director of Junior Golf with the Carolinas Golf Association.
Chase also held positions as an Account Manager at KW Beverage of Columbia and, most recently, at Southern Crown Partners in Columbia.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Dutton Liebler, and their daughter, Emilie MacLaurin Liebler, as well as their dog, Jack Buddy.
The family will hold an informal visitation to honor his life on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC.
