He won the 2003 Hickory Motor Speedway track championship and was named 2004 Hooters Pro Cup Series Rookie of the Year.

In 2008, he earned ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie of the Year honors, finishing third in points with one win and fourteen top-10 finishes.

Carter also competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, making 46 starts over six years, with his best season finish being 37th in 2011.

Additionally, he made a single NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start in 2003, securing 17th place at Martinsville Speedway.

In recent years, there have been no updates on Matt Carter’s racing career, as he has not been active in major NASCAR events.

However, he remains a notable figure in the sport due to his family legacy and past achievements.

While his racing career didn’t reach the heights of his father’s, he remained active in motorsports for several years.
