The Johnstown, New York, community mourns the untimely death of beloved resident and standout athlete, Alicia Corbett.
According to loved ones, Alicia Corbett passed away on Thanksgiving night on November 27, 2025, at an untimely age of 32 in a fatal auto accident.
Alicia Corbett and her family were involved in a devastating motor vehicle accident on November 27.
Unfortunately, Alicia Corbett didn’t survive the accident.
Her boyfriend, Corey Degrote, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but her two young children, a 7-year-old son, Nolan, and her 1.5-month-old daughter, Murphie Ann DeGrote, remain in the hospital, where they are being treated for injuries.
Alicia Corbett touched the lives of many as a cherished member of the Johnstown and Nelliston, New York, sports community and a loving mother to her two kids.

Alicia Corbett won the hearts of many with her remarkable softball journey playing for the Tri-Valley Softball team, an adult recreational softball team based in Nelliston, New York, alongside her partner Corey.
Throughout her journey, Alicia Corbett earned several honors and led her team to victories.
Furthermore, Alicia played softball on multiple teams and at numerous tournaments. In addition to softball, Alicia had a great passion for horseback riding and competed in several events.
Alicia Corbett’s invaluable contributions to the New York sports community and her kind-hearted nature will always remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and loved ones.
Many of her loved ones are sharing her memories on social media and praying for her family’s speedy recovery.

Similarly, the Johnstown, New York community has created a GoFundMe to help cover Alicia’s funeral expenses and to support the ongoing medical expenses for her children as they recover.
The fundraiser aims to accumulate $24k, and to date, around $13,807 has been raised.
In addition to her partner, Corey, and their kids, Nolan and Murphie, Alicia Corbett is survived by her younger brother and sister and the entire family.
