According to various reports, a student-athlete, Ilias Abuamra, tragically passed away after collapsing on the field.

On October 18, 2025, St. Joseph’s Elementary took to their official Facebook handle and announced that they will show their support to Tricentia Academy on October 20, 2025.

They wrote,

On Monday, October 20, we will show our support to Tricentia Academy on the loss of their student, Ilias Abuamra. Please wear black and red to support the Tricentia Academy family. If you wish to bring along a small donation, all money collected will be passed to Tricentia Academy to support the family. We are thinking of Ilias’ school, family, and friends during this very difficult time.

Se’t A’newey Kina’mation’kuom school also took to their Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Ilias. They wrote,

Se’t A’newey Kina’matino’kuom mourns the loss of an SSNL athlete at a Cross Country event this past week from Tricentia Academy. We join other schools in the province and show our support by wearing red and black, Monday, October 20th! Our thoughts and condolences to the school, the family and the entire community! Lets us all remember Ilias Abuamra!

he CBR U15A Female Renegades stand with the Tricentia Academy Timberwolves as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of one of their student athletes, Ilias Abuamra. A young life taken far too soon — Ilias’ passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled. His memory will live on through his loved ones, teammates, and all those whose lives he touched. And like all the young student athletes we’ve lost along the way, he’ll always be there — cheering you on to get the goal, cross the finish line, make the basket, and chase every dream with the same heart and passion he brought to everything he did. Our hearts are with Ilias’ family, friends, teammates, coaches, and the entire Tricentia Academy community. May his spirit and love for sport continue to shine through all who play/run in his memory.
