Trinity Tigers Coach Wade Lytal’s Daughter Located Kellyanne, Offering Family Long-Awaited Healing And Closure

Kellyanne Lytal, the daughter of a college football coach at Houston, died due to a flood in the Texas Hill Country.

Wade Lytal earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity in December 2009. He was a standout offensive guard and tackle for the Tigers from 2005 to 2008.

He also received D3football.com All-South Region Third Team honors in 2007 and Second Team recognition in 2008.

Moreover, he was a student assistant coach for the Tigers’ offensive line in 2009 while completing his undergraduate degree in composite social studies.

Coach Lytal was the 0-Line coach in the 2010 season while earning a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Later, he received his master’s degree in 2012 from UTSA.

He was the offensive line coach and assistant track & field coach at Houston (TX) Memorial High School.

Lytal was an assistant football coach at Illinois College from 2011-2015, with the multiple roles of offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and recruiting coordinator.

The football team earned an NCAA Division III playoff berth in 2011, and the Blueboys won the Midwest Conference South Division title in 2014.

Illinois College was ranked 13th nationally that season in total offense and 27th in scoring offense. The team held a #7 ranking in 2012 in the scoring offense category.

Wade Lytal’s Daughter, Kellyanne Lytal, Was Found Dead In The Texas Floods

Coach Wade Lytal and his wife, Malorie, were blessed with two daughters, Kellyanne and Emmalynn Lytal.

Sadly, Trinity University said on Friday, July 11, 2025, that 8-year-old Kellyanne Lytal was confirmed dead after being missing since the Guadalupe River floods hit the Texas Hill Country last week.

Kellyanne was one of the girls from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp in Hunt, Texas.

The official said 27 campers and counselors lost their lives in the floodwaters that rapidly swamped the campground.

When she was still missing, Coach Lytal shared a video of Kellyanne wearing a red dress and singing a solo in the Christmas Pageant. He said,

Asking for all prayers for a miracle for my baby girl Kellyanne. She is still one of the Mystic Campers who is unaccounted for. I’ll never forget when she told me she had a lead solo in the Christmas Pageant. She is absolutely fearless.

Trinity University took to their social media and mourned the loss of Kellyanne,

“The university has learned that Kellyanne Lytal, the young daughter of Trinity football offensive coordinator Wade Lytal ’09, has been confirmed as deceased following the catastrophic flooding along the Guadalupe River last week. Our entire community grieves with the Lytal family, to whom we extend our deepest sympathies and unwavering support. We know this loss will be felt across our campus and beyond,”

Kellyanne’s family started the Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal Memorial Foundation to give back to the community and charitable causes.

The Greater Houston Community Foundation manages the fund.

As per the family, the funds will support meaningful philanthropic efforts that reflect Kellyanne’s kind spirit and will ensure that her light continues to shine brightly in the world.

Wade Lytal And His Wife Malorie Have Been Married For Around 10 Years

Coach Wade Lytal tied the knot with Malorie Liljenwall Lytal on June 27, 2015. They have been married for over 10 years.

As per Malorie’s official Facebook handle, she is originally from Houston, Texas, and lives in San Antonio, Texas.

She went to Memorial High School and later studied a master’s in professional accounting at the University of Texas at Austin.

Since January 2010, Malorie has been serving as the talent business advisor at Deloitte.

Malorie is currently mourning the tragic loss of her younger daughter, Kellyanne Lytal.
