Kevin Granger, the athletic director at Texas Southern University (TSU), is facing a lawsuit from former staff member Sierra Henry, who accuses him of sexual assault and harassment.

The lawsuit, filed by the staffer in Harris County on Monday, alleges that Granger made sexual comments on several occasions and groped the woman during a late April meeting in his office.

His alleged comments made other staff members uncomfortable, as per the lawsuit, which claims that Granger suggested in the aforementioned meeting with the staffer that she remove her clothing.

Granger’s attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, released a statement on Wednesday in which she said,

“These are serious allegations, and they deserve a serious response, which we will make at the appropriate time and in court,”  “In the meantime, I can tell you that no sexual assault occurred and any indication that it did, is false.”

The University did not respond to the request for comment on Wednesday.

In a statement to students and families, the University said it was made aware of the allegations through the civil lawsuit.

“While the university is not named as a party in the litigation, please be assured that Texas Southern University takes all allegations of misconduct seriously,” “In alignment with our policies and values, we have initiated an independent investigation to ensure a fair and thorough review of the matter. The executive in question has been placed on administrative leave.”
