A beloved husband, father, and basketball coach, Terence “Terry” Billy, passed away untimely on August 30, 2025.

However, the precise details behind his sudden passing remain concealed so far as his family is grieving in silence.

Terry is survived by his wife, Rosinake Billy, and his kids. It was his wife who broke the exclusive news of his passing, writing:

Dear Family, Relatives, and Friends,
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Terence “Terry” Billy, who has taken his Journey on August 30, 2025.
To accommodate family and friends both near and far, we will be gathering virtually via Zoom to honor and remember Terry’s life.

Terry Billy poured his heart into coaching the boys’ varsity basketball team at Tuba City High School in Arizona.

He started as head coach around 2017 and led the Warriors through some up-and-down seasons in the 3A North region.

That first year, in 2017-18, his team finished strong, with an overall record of 14-9 and a 5-6 region record, ranking 16th in the division.

This performance showcased what he could accomplish with a solid group of 15 players.

Things got tougher the next season, 2018-19, when they went 5-17 overall and just 1-9 in region play, finishing 35th in the division rankings with a 12-player roster. However, Terry kept pushing, playing 22 games and never giving up on his guys.

In the 2020-21 season, it was cut short due to the pandemic, with no games played, resulting in a 0-0 record in the NEAZ Large division.

However, he was right there, laying the groundwork for what came next.

Dottie Sumatzkuku, one of his colleagues who worked with him for over a decade, wrote:

My condolences to his family🥲 you will be missed. A colleague who I’ve worked with for the past 13 years.😞🥲

Likewise, one of his longtime friends, Brian Howard, penned a brief eulogy on his memory, which reads:

We lost a great person today my bro Terry Billy. I will always remember growing with you, playing ball all over the rez, cruising all over Tuba with my cousins. I am gonna miss your distinctive loud laugh. And when I would see you, you always yell BIZZY BONE!!! And will miss our ASU vs U of A rivalry. Last time I saw you was at the ASU vs Colorado football game and you were wearing your ASU overalls. 😂😂😂 Til we meet again bro, we will all miss you. Love you brother. 💔❤️

Terry’s wife, Rosinake Billy, has invited everyone to join a virtual Zoom gathering to honor his life.

The memorial will take place on August 31, 2025, at 6:00 PM Mountain Time (5:00 PM Reservation Time).

The Zoom meeting, titled “T. Billy Meeting,” is a chance for family and friends, near and far, to come together, share memories, and support one another during this difficult time.

Similarly, the family is also humbly asking for donations to help cover burial expenses. Contributions can be made through Zelle, Cash App, or in person with Terry’s wife, Rosina Kee Billy.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Terry’s wife, kids, friends, and extended family.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Coach Terry Billy!
