Sophia Alessandra Urquilla, a middle school student from Tucson, Arizona, passed away last month at the age of 14, leaving his parents and loved ones devastated.

The 14-year-old Sophia Alessandra Urquilla was found dead on her bed on January 30, 2025, according to the reports.

While, initially, the cause of Sophia Alessandra Urquilla’s demise was unclear, a recent autopsy report revealed she lost her life to a substance overdose.

Sophia Alessandra Urquilla died of fentanyl toxicity, and her death was ruled accidental.

Sophia Urquilla was an eighth-grader student at Mansfeld Magnet Middle School in Tucson, Arizona.

The entire Tucson community and Mansfeld Middle School are mourning the untimely loss of their bright and kind student.

In response to Sophia’s demise, many of her friends and loved ones are sending their heartfelt condolences to her family.

Similarly, journalist Mary Coleman took to her Facebook page to express her sorrow and wrote, “Just heartbreaking.”

Many in the comment section of her post wrote that they are sad to see people losing their lives due to substance overdose, while some are expressing their anger, asking why anyone would sell a young girl fentanyl without a prescription.

The late Sophia Alessandra Urquilla is survived by her mother, Sindy, her father, Manuel Urquilla, and the whole family.

She was born on December 6, 2010, and was beloved by all for her kind nature.

While very little information about her parents is available, as they prefer to maintain a private life, her family wrote in her obituary that Sophia was full of ambition, dreams, and goals.

Sophia was an optimist, curious and adventurous, a bright student, an athlete, and a gamer. She was involved in several sports activities and was a rising athlete.

In addition to her passion for sports, Sophia taught herself to play the guitar and was a fan of Anime.

Sophia’s memorial service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Funeraria del Angel Catalina, 3435 N First Avenue, Tucson, Arizona.

Moreover, her obituary page stated that the visitation would be followed by a graveside service from 3:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at Evergreen Mortuary, Cemetery, and Crematory on Oracle Rd in Tucson, Arizona.
