Tyrod Taylor is an American football player for the National Football League’s New York Giants (NFL).

He attended Virginia Tech and led the Hokies to the 2009 Orange Bowl as a sophomore and the 2011 Orange Bowl as a senior. The player was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

He served as the backup quarterback to starting quarterback Joe Flacco. Tyrod also did during the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

In 2015, Taylor was signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Bills, taking over as starting quarterback that season and making the Pro Bowl.

Taylor made his college football debut on September 8, 2007, against the LSU Tigers. The player completed 7-of-18 passes for 62 yards and rushed 44 yards on nine attempts. 

Tyrod was supposed to be a redshirt freshman in 2008. However, following Virginia Tech’s loss to East Carolina University, his redshirt was removed due to Tech’s need for more offense.
