Scott Eckelberry, a former high school baseball star and golfer, passed away at the age of 56 on March 6, 2025, leaving his family and girlfriend devastated.

According to reports, Scott Eckelberry, a native of Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost his life in a tragic car accident in Bartow, Florida.

Born on December 7, 1968, to father Paul G. Eckelberry and mother Sandra ‘Sandy’ Louise Eckelberry in Ohio, Scott Eckelberry devoted his whole life to sports.

Moreover, growing up in Columbus, Scott began his baseball journey from a very young age, following in his father Paul and brother David’s footsteps, who were both exceptional baseball players.

Scott showcased his exceptional baseball skills while playing for the Upper Arlington High School baseball team, Golden Bears.

He started in Little League and, as an amazing pitcher, led the UA Golden Bears to the 1987 state championship.

In 2024, Scott Eckelberry was inducted into the Upper Arlington Baseball Hall of Fame. He was recognized for having 42 RBIs in his senior year, the second most in program history.

After finishing high school baseball, Scott pursued a career in golf, working as a caddy and assistant pro at several top-tier courses around the county.

Before his death, Scott Eckelberry worked at Streamsong Golf Resort and Payne’s Valley Golf Course.

Scott Eckelberry was not only known for his athletic career but also for his cheerful and kind nature.

The entire Columbus, Ohio community mourns the tragic loss of their beloved Scott Eckelberry; he will always be remembered.

Scott Eckelberry Is Survived By His Mother, Sandra, Sister Juli, Girlfriend Sandy, And The Entire Family

In response to his tragic demise, many of his loved ones are sending their heartfelt condolences to Scott Eckelberry’s family during his difficult phase.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra; his longtime girlfriend, Sandy ‘Sandra’ Adrian; his sister Juli and her husband, Tony Dewar; and his nieces and nephews.

While very little information about his mother, Sandra, is available as she prefers to maintain a low profile, his longtime girlfriend, Sandy Adrian, took to social media to express her sorrow.

Sandy shared a post about Scott Eckelberry demise with the caption “My heart is so broken… 😞,” on her Facebook.

Many people in the post’s comment section expressed their sincere condolences to Sandy.

She shared a heartfelt post appreciating her late boyfriend, Scott, who was her best friend for four years.

Sandy also updated that she is currently grieving and would like to maintain her privacy.

The post reads:

“I am absolutely shattered and all my “look forward toos” ended in one second. I lived 10 lifetimes in the almost 4 years we were together and I’m thankful for every one – and thankful for the man who made every other loss and heartache make sense – I miss my best friend. So i may not be responding but – I know you care and I’m thankful for that as well. I’m gonna have to really feel this one – and it’s unfair and shattering and just so hopelessly sad. I’m absolutely broken 😞 I won’t be back on or answering anyone for a while but know my family is keeping me posted or everyone’s messages and prayers. I love you all.

Talking about his girlfriend, Sandy Adrian is a native of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and currently works as a teacher at Maryetta Public School.

Sandy is also a reading specialist and Library Media Specialist at Maryetta School. She earned her master’s of education with a major in early childhood from Northeastern State University in 1995.

Furthermore, Sandy Adrian has a daughter named Ally Mascho with her late husband, U.S. Army Jeffrey Chance Chuculate.
