Lance Khan, a student-athlete at the University of St. Thomas, tragically lost his life in an accident in the early hours of June 15, 2025.

The circumstances surrounding his passing are still under investigation, and officials have requested privacy for his family during this difficult time.

Lance Khan Was A Talented Baseball Player!

Lance Khan, the youngest of the Khan brothers, followed his siblings’ path, playing at various levels throughout his career.

Richmond, Texas, resident, he began his baseball journey at a young age, shaped by his family’s deep involvement in the sport.

Known for his charisma, athletic talent, and leadership on and off the field, Khan started his baseball journey with the Lamar Little League.

Then, he progressed to teams like the Lobos, Twelve, and the Houston A’s, and later played for Travis High School, where he honed his skills.

He then moved to the University of St. Thomas, where he completed his freshman season as a middle infielder.

However, his baseball career was disrupted in 2022 when he was diagnosed with cancer.

He had to step away from the sport to focus on treatment, surgery, and recovery.

By 2024, Lance returned to baseball, rejoining his team at the University of St. Thomas as a middle infielder and continued playing as an active player.

Khan’s passing has left a void in the heart of his family, teammates, and the entire baseball community.

His teammates described him as the best “Hype Man” in baseball. One of his friends expressed sadness over Lance’s tragic passing, saying:

Lance wasn’t just our teammate—he was our brother, our motivator, our light in the toughest times. There will never be another like him.

Additionally, the University of St. Thomas President, Dr. Richard Ludwick, expressed deep sorrow, saying,

We are heartbroken over the loss of Lance Khan, whose energy and enthusiasm embodied the very spirit of our university. He was a scholar, an athlete, and above all, a kind soul who brought out the best in everyone he met.

A GoFundMe campaign “Assist Lance Khan’s family with funeral arrangements” was launched to assist Lance Khan’s family with funeral expenses.

The fundraiser was organized by Jeff Galvan to help cover costs for the funeral service, burial or cremation, transportation, and memorial arrangements.

Lance Khan Won His Battle With Cancer In 2023!

Three years ago, in 2022, Lance Khan faced one of the toughest battles of his life, a fight against cancer.

At just 19 years old, he was diagnosed with the disease and underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor, followed by chemotherapy.

He underwent surgery at St. Jude’s to remove several lymph nodes, followed by a series of treatments.

Also, a GoFundMe campaign “Lance Khan Fans – Fight cancer with Lance!” was launched to support Lance Khan’s cancer treatment.

This fundraiser was organized by Lisa Capel on behalf of Michelle Khan, Lance’s mother.

The campaign aimed to cover medical expenses, including surgery and chemotherapy, as Lance did not have health insurance.

In 2023, after months of fighting, his family joyfully announced that he was cancer-free.

Their heartfelt statement read:

The day we have all been praying for is here – Lance is cancer free!! Lance had surgery at St. Jude’s last week to remove several lymph nodes, and he returned home this week. Yesterday, the pathology report came back negative! Lance is cancer free!! All glory to God!

His recovery was celebrated by his family, friends, teammates, and the University of St. Thomas community, who had supported him throughout his journey.

Despite winning his battle with cancer, Lance Khan’s life was tragically cut short in an accident on June 15, 2025.

Though his life ended too soon, his determination, strength, and passion for the game will never be forgotten.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Lance Khan’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest In Peace, Beautiful Soul!
