Retired American soccer star and Olympian Tobin Heath acknowledges her parents, Jeff and Cindy Heath, as key influences behind her successful soccer career.
Jeff and Cindy raised Tobin and her siblings, Katie, Perry, and Jeffrey, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, within a household grounded in Christian faith.
It was Heath’s father who introduced her to soccer at the age of 4, bringing her to her first soccer clinic at the YMCA in her hometown.
In a field full of male players, Heath was the only girl there; however, her father encouraged her to play soccer.
Over time, Heath fell in love with soccer, and the rest is history. She stood up to her father’s encouragement and at the age of 20, she was the youngest member of the 2008 Olympic Team.
Likewise, her mother, Cindy Heath, has also been nothing but supportive of her career from the very first.
Whether cheering from the sidelines or offering emotional support during injuries and setbacks, Cindy has always had her back.
Heath often speaks of her mother’s support, and in a 2021 interview following a match against Mexico, she discussed how her mother supported her during a challenging recovery from ankle and knee injuries.
She shared that her mother traveled to Manchester to be with her as soon as she learned of the injury, describing it as a special moment, saying:
My mom actually came to Manchester as soon as she heard… I’ll never forget that… it was a special moment that I got with her.

Jeff Heath is an entrepreneur and insurance executive with a career spanning more than four decades in reinsurance, wholesale insurance distribution, and data-driven innovation.

After selling these businesses to Hallmark Financial Services, Jeff co-founded XPT Group in 2016, a forward-thinking insurance distribution firm integrating multiple underwriting and brokerage entities to deliver cutting-edge customer service and rapid product development.
Jeff lives in Jamestown, Rhode Island, and plays a big role in the specialty insurance business. He uses his leadership skills, smart use of technology, and strong teamwork to help improve and modernize how insurance companies work.
