Valley View High School Football Player Andrew Heid Dies Following A Fatal Motorcycle Accident, Leaving Behind His Family And The Entire Community!

On the early morning of Saturday, July 26, 2025, 21-year-old Andrew Heid of Peckville tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Route 107 in Mayfield Borough, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.

The crash occurred just after 2:00 a.m. when Heid reportedly lost control of his motorcycle, resulting in severe head injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lackawanna County Chief Deputy Coroner.

The Mayfield Borough Police Department is actively investigating the incident, and Route 107 was temporarily closed following the crash

Andrew Heid Was A Member Of The District 2 Championship Valley View Football Team!

Standing 5’11”, Andrew Heid was a passionate student-athlete from Archbald, Pennsylvania.

Before moving to high school football, he spent several formative years from 2009 to 2016, playing with the Valley View Jr Cougars “B” team.

Additionally, Heid was listed as a member of the Junior Cougars team that competed in the ACC Super Bowl XVI during the 2015 season.

Now, regarding his high school career, a committed member of the Class of 2022, Andrew played in both the offensive and defensive roles of the game.

Heid began his football journey with Valley View High School’s Boys’ Freshman Football team in 2017, proudly wearing jersey #8.

During that time, he played both as a running back and outside linebacker.

His dedication and athletic growth led him to join the Boys’ Varsity Football squad from 2019 to 2021, where he continued to excel as both a running back and outside linebacker.

During this time, he wore jersey #32 on the field, though he was still recognized by many under his familiar #8.

Over his varsity football career, he tallied 34 total yards with an average of 8.5 yards per carry.

He registered 4 carries in total, averaging 1.6 yards per game, with one confirmed run play and one total touchdown.

While he wasn’t widely known as a collegiate or professional football player, his participation in the sport reflected his dedication and team spirit during his school years.

Beyond football, he was a member of the County Dream game and the Valley View Track and field team.

Additionally, he played baseball for the Valley View Cal Ripkin team. On the flip side, he enjoyed the outdoors, such as hunting, fishing, and riding a motorbike.

It is reported that after graduation, he was selected for the US Navy.

Andrew Heid’s Family, Along With The Entire Valley View Community, Is Mourning His Loss!

Andrew Heid’s untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Valley View community.

The Valley View Jr Cougars expressed their heartfelt condolence to Andrew Heid, saying:

We are deeply saddened today learning about the sudden passing of Andrew Heid. Andrew spent 7 season with the Valley View Jr Cougars from 2009-2016. He played for the varsity Cougars and graduated in 2022. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Moreover, Andrew’s friends, teammates, and coaches have expressed sadness over his loss.

Among the countless voices mourning Andrew’s passing, one stands out in quiet devastation: his father’s.

He shared:

I don’t know how im going to get by without you! I love you buddy, my life will never be the same.

He is survived by his parents: Jerry Heid Jr., Christine Kilmer, and his fiancée, Lori Bilinsky of Greenfield Township.

Additionally, he will be remembered by his twin brother, Anthony, Eynon, as well as his whole extended family.

His paternal grandparents are Jerry and Terri Doherty Heid of Peckville, while his maternal grandparents, Raymond Kilmer Sr. and Kathleen Hudson, preceded him in death.
