Versailles Middle School cross-country standout Wesley Breeze, 13, passes away, leaving behind his parents, Daniel and Carla, and his siblings

The Versailles, Ohio, community mourns the untimely death of beloved native and standout athlete, Wesley Breeze.

Wesley Breeze passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at an untimely age of 13; however, his family hasn’t yet disclosed the actual cause of his death.

The 13-year-old Wesley Breeze touched the lives of many with his remarkable athletic skills and kind, cheerful nature.

He began his athletic journey at a very young age.

Wesley Breeze, an eighth-grade cross-country standout, left a strong impression with his dedication and natural running ability.

A member of the Versailles Middle School program and Class of 2030, Wesley consistently pushed himself in competition.

He recently recorded a personal-best time of 18:09.0 in the two-mile run at the Bob Schul Invitational on August 23, 2025, placing among the top young runners in the state before his untimely demise.

Wesley’s remarkable contribution to the sports community will always be remembered. Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late cross-country star and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Versailles School took to thier official social media to express their sorrow and wrote:

“We are completely heartbroken with this news. Please keep the Breeze family in your thoughts.”

Versailles Exempted Village School District also provided a grief counselor in the Versailles High School gym on Sunday, November 2, 2025, for students and families who came together to support the Breeze family.

Wesley Breeze is Survived By His Parents, Daniel and Carla, Siblings, and Entire Family

Wesley Breeze was not just a fantastic athlete but also a great son to his parents, Daniel and Carla Breeze.

Born in February 2012, as one of the five children of Daniel and Carla, Wesley Breeze was the life of the family, who lit up the house with his bright smile and joyful nature.

While Daniel and Carla haven’t released any statement regarding the untimely death of their beloved son, Wesley Breeze, they often share his pictures on social media expressing their love and pride.

Both Daniel and Carla shared a beautiful picture of their son on social media, paying tribute to him.

Very little information is available about Wesley’s parents, as they prefer to maintain a low profile. However, his father, Daniel’s social media displays that he is a native of Russia, Ohio, and graduated from Russia High School.

Daniel is serving as the Foreman at Groff Mowing and Lawn Care LLC in Versailles, Ohio.

Likewise, Wesley’s mother, Carla, a native of Fort Loramie, Ohio, works at the US Postal Service. Before that, she worked at Wilson Health.

Carla attended Fort Loramie High School and graduated from the University of Cincinnati.

In addition to his parents, Wesley Breeze is survived by his four siblings: sisters Jenna and Lydia, and brothers Gavin and Drew; his grandparents; uncles; aunts; cousins; and the entire family.

The Versailles community has created a fundraiser to help Wesley’s family ease the financial burden of the funeral and memorial expenses.
