Maria Victoria Losada Gomez, born March 5, 1991, is a Spanish soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion and the Spain national team.

She started playing soccer at an early age and began her youth career at Barcelona’s youth development program, La Masia.

After two seasons in the youth program, he booked herself a place in the first team, making her senior debut in 2006.

Additionally, she had a one-season-long stint with Espanyol before returning to Barcelona.

Besides Barcelona, she graced the sports wearing Arsenal and Manchester City jerseys.

Born June 14, 1979, Byrne started playing soccer for Leixlip United before joining St Patrick’s Athletic in the Dublin Women’s Soccer League.

Additionally, Byrne played a season with Fortuna Hjorring before joining Arsenal, where she met her future wife in her final season with the Gunners.

Throughout her professional career, she bagged several individual and collective awards, including the UEFA Women’s Champions League (2007), Arsenal Ladies Player of the Year (2003 and 2005), and FAI Senior Women’s International Player of the Year (2012) to name a few.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper is currently working as a commentator for BarcaTV, Barclays WSL, and FIGC Calcio Femminile.

In her second stint with Barcelona, Vicky led her team to their maiden UEFA Women’s Champions League title in 2021, defeating Chelsea 4-0 in the final.

During this win, Losada’s partner, Emma, was present in the stadium working as a television pundit for BarcaTV. Emma, herself had won the competition in 2007.

Losada’s teammates, several stories below, chanted: “Kiss her! Kiss her!” They had pestered Losada in the weeks prior about proposing to Byrne if the confetti rained down.

“They wanted a Carbonero-Casillas moment,” Losada explains afterward, referring to the interview in which goalkeeper Iker Casillas passionately kissed his TV presenter partner Sara Carbonero.
