Social Studies teacher Christopher Winkle was arrested on charges of child abuse without great bodily harm on May 07, 2025.

The incident appears to have been triggered by the student wearing a hoodie, which Winkles demanded that she remove after hitting her with a whiteboard.

Victim Fears Returning To Class After Incident With Teacher Christopher Winkles!

The incident occurred on April 14, 2025, at around 1:15 p.m. when Winkles allegedly struck a student, a teenager possibly between 14 and 18 years old, with an 18-inch by 14-inch whiteboard.

It is reported that the student was leaning on her hand while wearing a hoodie when Winkles approached from behind.

According to her statement, Winkles picked up the whiteboard and struck her thighs, demanding that she remove her hoodie.

The victim further stated that the strike caused immediate pain and left a red mark on her thighs.

Additionally, several students corroborated the victim’s account, stating that Winkles had previously “messed” with her but had always apologized afterward.

However, there are no specific details explaining why he behaved this way or what exactly those previous incidents entailed.

Some students mentioned that Winkles may have struck the victim either to wake her up or because she was wearing a hoodie.

However, on the day of the incident, Winkles allegedly struck her without provocation. The strike was loud enough to startle other students in the classroom.

After the incident, the student promptly reported the alleged assault, which led to an official investigation.

Christopher Winkles chose to exercise his constitutional rights and did not provide a statement to authorities regarding the accusations.

Following the report, Winkles was administratively assigned to his home pending the results of the school district’s investigation.

There hasn’t been an official statement confirming his termination yet.

The principal of Santaluces High School, Tameka Robinson, informed families and staff members about the arrest, stating:

Mr. Winkle’s classes will continue to be covered by a substitute teacher through the conclusion of the year. Please understand that due to the ongoing case, I am unable to provide further details at this time. Thank you for your continued support of Santaluces High School.

Winkles was taken into custody at Palm Beach County Jail on Monday at 8:30 a.m. and released on a $5,000 bond the next day.

The case remains under review, with further disciplinary or legal consequences potentially forthcoming depending on the investigation results.

Mixed Reactions Surround Arrest Of High School Teacher Christopher Winkles!

Regarding this case, many people are expressing concern over the increasing reports of misconduct by educators.

One of the commenter reflect his frustration and worry about the student safety, stating:

What is going on with these teachers abusing our kids.

On the flip side, online discussions indicate that some believe the student’s behavior might have played a role in the incident, saying:

I’m sure the kid deserved it! These kids have no respect nowadays!

While some defended the above comment, they argue that physically striking students remains illegal regardless of whether their behavior warranted discipline.

However, there are no official reports detailing any prior conflicts or behavioral concerns related to the student.
