Walker Town HS, White Cheerleader Standing In The Middle Of Black Dancers, Has Sparked Racist Reviews From People

If someone has talent, their race or any other factor should never determine their place—it’s the skill that deserves recognition.

The incident at Walker Town High School began with a video showing a white cheerleader positioned at the front of a group of Black dancers.

What might have been a simple performance quickly escalated into controversy, as online comments accused the placement of being racially inappropriate.

The consequences of this reaction were significant: the cheerleader herself became the subject of criticism, and the team’s unity was questioned.

Commenters Criticized the Cheerleader’s Placement by Saying, “She Don’t Need to be in the Front or Upset Because She White” and Asking, “Ughhh Why is She There!”

Antwonette Sides reshared the original post by Diamond Green, who had uploaded the video and expressed frustration at the backlash.

Diamond Green’s caption strongly criticized the negative comments that people made on the video.

According to her, some individuals reacted by saying:

She don’t need to be in the front or upset because she white” and even asked “ughhh why is she there.

She highlighted that these remarks came from Black commenters, which she found deeply troubling and a double standard.

Moreover, she argued that the cheerleader may simply have earned her spot by being the best dancer on the team, and questioned why talent was being overshadowed by race.

On the other hand, Antwonette added her own perspective, acknowledging that the comments were “definitely distasteful” but also noting how the cheerleader’s energy seemed different when placed at the back in a later video.

Drawing from her experience as a former Walkertown cheer coach, Antwonette emphasized that talent should speak for itself, regardless of race.

She also reminded readers of the pride the school once carried when its cheerleaders gained recognition.

In the original post, people reacted strongly to Antwonette’s post, sharing their own points of view.

Some highlighted their support, saying:

She definitely ate! And absolutely deserved to be lead

While others echoed Diamond’s frustration, commenting:

Absolutely well said it’s crazy when you realize who the real racists actually are these days.

The debate surrounding the Walker Town High School cheerleader reflects how quickly issues of race and representation can overshadow talent and achievement.
