McKinsey Glover still remembers the view from the hotel window, where the lights on the Ohio River bridge shimmered across the water as Victor Bush stood behind her.

If you don’t let me out of this room, I’m going out that window,” she told him, but He didn’t listen.

Instead, Glover says, the longtime principal of Belzer Middle School wrapped his arms around her, lifted her off the floor, carried her to the bed, and unbuttoned her pants.

The assault happened on April 26 inside a suite at the Embassy Suites in Covington, Kentucky, during a school celebration that started with drinks and ended with a closed bedroom door.

Now, for the first time, the 27-year-old office worker is speaking publicly. And she wants every survivor to know: your voice matters.

A Night That Changed Everything

The trip was supposed to be fun. Several Belzer staff members crossed the river from Indianapolis for a night of food, drinks, and team bonding.

Glover, who handled front-office duties directly under Bush, joined the group.

At some point, people spread out across the suite. Bush closed the bedroom door. Only the two of them remained inside.

Glover faced the window. Bush approached from behind. What followed lasted minutes but still haunts her months later.

She recalled in an emotional interview:

“I could see the bridge, the lights, the water, And I told him, ‘If you don’t let me out this room, I’m getting out this room.”

He ignored the warning. She says he picked her up, placed her on the bed, and began undressing her. She fought back and eventually escaped the room.

The nightmare didn’t end that night. Glover says Bush kept contacting her with texts that ranged from apologies to intimidation. She saved every message.

After her annual evaluation, Bush allegedly told her to return for “a higher score.” The comment terrified her.

She worried that no one would believe a young employee over a respected principal with decades of experience in education.

Everything changed when she learned Bush allegedly assaulted another coworker the same evening.

On October 15, a Marion County judge granted Glover a protective order against him.

Covington Police confirm they are investigating the April incident. No criminal charges have been filed yet, but Glover expects a sexual assault case in Kentucky and a harassment case in Indianapolis.

Victor Bush Dedicated Several Years to Advancing Through the Educational System in Indiana

He served as principal at several Indianapolis-area schools and held leadership roles with the Indiana High School Athletic Association.

Colleagues knew him as a coach and administrator who moved easily between districts.

Then, abruptly, he resigned from Belzer Middle School.

The Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township issued a short statement:

“Mr. Victor Bush has resigned from his position as principal of Belzer Middle School and is no longer employed by the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township. As this is a personnel matter, the district will not be providing further information.”

No mention of allegations. No timeline for the resignation. Just a closed door—again.

Glover worries about the next school that might hire Bush. Background checks don’t always catch resignations tied to internal investigations.

She said-:

“He resigned, and coming with that, you can go and get another job elsewhere that’s not on your background, Clearly, he’s always been resigning, and he’s been accepted back into the schools.”

At 27, Glover says students often mistake her for a peer. “I look like a kid,” she laughed, then turned serious. “I don’t want a child to go through this.”

The Community is Now Also Voicing its Opinions

Vanessa Romero Scott posted online:

“This is the time we come together, not just to talk about change, but to demand justice for these babies/young ladies. They were victims, and the very community that was supposed to protect them failed them. No child/young lady should ever carry that kind of pain or trauma alone. Let’s make sure their voices are heard. Let’s make sure this never happens again. Please, don’t scroll past—share this, speak up, and stand with them. #SpeakUp This is Belzer Middle School principal.”

“Former Columbus East men’s basketball coach, Victor Bush, facing sexual assault allegations from more than one victim. A Lawrence Township school employee says she was sexually assaulted by her boss, Belzer Middle School Principal Victor Bush, who has resigned. McKinsey Glover is speaking out and says she is not Bush’s only victim. 13News does not usually identify alleged victims of sexual assault. But Glover wants to be seen and heard.”
