Varsity football player Jordan Jerome Jeffery, of Puerto Rican and African American descent, passed away untimely in a tragic motorcycle crash on October 16, 2025, at the age of 18.
Sadly, his passing came just 2 months before he would’ve turned 19.
The heartbreaking accident reportedly took place on Interstate 294 in Franklin Park, Illinois, just after 2:30 p.m., west of Wolfe Road.
According to the Illinois State Police, the young motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in a collision involving a Mercedes Sprinter van and a freightliner truck-tractor.
Jordan was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle and moving between cars on the road. He then lost control and hit the back of a Mercedes Sprinter van.
The crash threw him off his motorcycle onto the road, where a truck hit him.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Jordan succumbed to the injuries sustained in the heartwrenching crash.
Jordan is survived by his mother, Johanna L. Rivera; his stepfather, Edward Torres; and his siblings, Jazlin McPherson, Angel L. Rivera, and Joel L. McPherson.
His brother, Jazlin, took to his Facebook to share the exclusive news of his passing.
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Jordan J. Jeffery, who left us way too soon at 18 yrs old. Jordan was always full of life, love, and big dreams that were only beginning to come to true
Likewise, he also leaves behind his grandmother, Myriam Hill, as well as many aunts, cousins, and friends.
Jordan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Angel L. Rivera.
Born on December 27th, 2006, Jordan was someone who lived life to his fullest.
He never felt afraid of taking risks and even pushed others around him to reach their highest potential.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Waukegan.
