Washington Capitals defenseman Cole Hutson comes from an athletic family, with his parents being veteran athletes in their respective sports.

Growing up in a family of athletic powerhouses, Hutson naturally gravitated towards sports, particularly hockey.

Cole started playing hockey at a young age, following in the footsteps of his seasoned hockey veteran father, Rob Hutson.

His parents have supported him since the beginning of his career, nurturing his passion for hockey and mentoring him.

Moreover, Cole has lived up to his father’s name, continuing the family legacy of excelling in sports.

His strong bond with his family and friends is evident from the social media posts he often dedicates to them.

Cole Received Mentorship and Guidance From Both of His Parents, Who Are Experienced Athletes!

Cole Hutson was born on June 28, 2006, to Rob and Julie Hutson in New Barrington, Illinois.

His father, Rob, is a hockey veteran who has played in various leagues, including the ECHL and Western Professional Hockey League.

On his father’s birthday, Hutson posted a Happy Birthday post on Twitter with a heartfelt caption that read:

Happy birthday to the man that raised me, pushes me to be better every single day, why I strive to be great just knowing that if I can be a fraction of the man he is I’ll be a great person, father, and husband. I don’t think I could have asked for a better role model and mentor

Cole’s father played in the Colonial Hockey League and the United Hockey League.

Rob also showcased his skills in NCAA hockey for the University of Illinois-Chicago during the 1990s.

Initially drafted by the Detroit Red Wings, he navigated the minor league hockey circuit for eight years before retiring in 1999.

Additionally, Rob was a key part of the Muskegon Fury, contributing to their Colonial Cup championship win in the 2001-02 season.

Later, he also served as an assistant coach for the North Jersey Avalanche 16U AAA and a video scout for the Arizona Coyotes.

Currently, Rob is involved in coaching roles for Team Illinois and Barrington High School‘s varsity team.

On the other hand, Cole’s mother, Julie Hutson, was an elite gymnast who earned a spot on the U.S. junior Olympic team.

The hockey played valuable mentorship thanks to his parents‘ sports background.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Lane Hutson, is also a professional NHL player who gives him support and advice.

When he moved to university, he posted a picture with his parents, expressing gratitude and sharing the happy news with fans.

Cole has frequently acknowledged his parents’ influence on his career, including a notable mention during an appearance on the Morning Cuppa Hockey podcast.
