The Waterville community is mourning the tragic death of Hockey goaltender Cody Sack.
Cody Sack was an American ice hockey goaltender who played with the Maine Moose 14U A team during the 2022-23 season in the Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League (EJEPL).
In four recorded games, he posted a 3.25 goals-against average and a .790 save percentage, facing 49 shots over 180 minutes of play.
Though he was also listed on the Maine Moose 14U AA roster, he did not appear in any games for that team during the season.
He played alongside teammates such as Kael Ziegelbauer and Hailey Tibbetts on the 14U A team, and Nolan Wellman and Jacob Talbot on the 14U AA roster.

Hockey goaltender Cody Sack, born in 2008, took his last breath in May 2025 at 17. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.
Closed ones and relatives have offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Cody’s family to stay strong in this challenging time.
Shawn Roderick, who works at the Maine State Senate and the State of Maine Legislature, took to his Facebook handle and sent prayers to Cody’s family. He wrote,
Just so heart-breaking! Say a prayer for the Sack Family, hug your loved ones tight, and give a little to the family if you are able. #hockeyfamily

Heartbroken to hear about this. Cody was Ethans goalie partner a few years ago. He was one of the funniest kids I’ve ever met. And sweet too. He will be missed. Please pray for this family. They are one of a kind and would do anything for anybody. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Katie Hitchings, registered staff nurse at We Get Staffed, also mourned the tragic death of Coyd Sack. She wrote,
The Maine Moose and Central Maine Hornets lost a teammate, brother, friend, goalie, son, and amazing human and hockey player yesterday. To honor Cody and his family, our favorite bartender would like to create a tea fundraiser as many of us use her as our supplier anyway! Order forms will be ready in a few days-, or pre order through me- for delivery in the next 2-3 weeks, with a significant amount of the proceeds going directly to the Sack family.

Waterville resident Dawn P also organized a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help Cody’s family with the medical bills.
The campaign aimed to collect around $10k, and it has collected over $10,250.
Cody Sack will always be remembered for his contributions as a goaltender for the Central Maine Hornets. His family will soon reveal the funeral service schedule.

Cody Sack’s parents, Eric and Renee Sack, are devastated by the shocking death of their son, Cody Sack.
As per the source, Cody’s father, Eric, owns and operates Above All Construction and Roofing.
On the other hand, Renee’s Facebook handle showcases that she lives in Fairfield, Maine. Renee grew up with her sister Kristen Waters, who married Brad Waters.
Eric and Renee always supported Cody in achieving his ice hockey dreams.
In addition, Cody Sack had a twin brother named Chase Sack. He also shared a close bond with his grandfather, Peter Sack.
