Mr. Ricky (Fatback) Marion Parrish tragically passed away on Saturday.
Ricky Parrish was born on March 25, 1950, to the late Luther Parrish and the late Pearl Rose Parrish.
He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and Welcome Center Gulf Station.
Parrish was a friend to all and was willing to help them in any way he could, especially with a joke or funny story.
Ricky was an avid Carolina fan and loved watching them play, but his heart was always in coaching the boys in Welcome Little League Baseball.
Coach Ricky Marion Parrish Died At The Age Of 75
Ricky Marion Parrish, 75, tragically passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his home in Welcome, North Carolina, United States.
However, the cause of death has not been revealed officially.
Jimmy, who played for Ricky for 2 years, offered his heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Ricky’s family. He wrote,
I played ball for Rick for 2 years as a kid nearly 50 years ago…he was more than a coach tho! You can ask anyone who ever played for him..as a grown up I had the best time coaching with him until he hung it up and put me on my own coaching ! You will be greatly missed coach!

Ricky Marion Parrish Is Preceded In Death By His First Wife, Dianne, And His Second Wife, Doris Ann Parrish
Richard Marion Parrish was married to Dianne Wicks Parrish of Winston-Salem. Their exact marriage date has not been revealed.
They were blessed with one son, Ritchie Parrish, and a daughter, Melissa Parrish.
Dianne, 68, was born January 8, 1950, in Davidson County, NC, to Marcine Mecimore Wicks and Richard Franklin Wicks, Jr.
She grew up with her sister, Dawn Kennedy of Winston-Salem, and a special niece, Diana Dawn Anderson.
Dianne was a member of Cedar Dale Baptist Church.
Sadly, she passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 68. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
Later, Ricky tied the knot with Doris Ann Beckman Parrish. They were blessed with five children: Richard, Nancy, Joe, Ann Steven, and Joe Parrish.
Doris also died on Friday, February 12, 2010, at 81. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Neal Funeral Home with John Blair officiating.
However, Ricky has now been reunited with his late wives, Doris and Dianne Parrish.
