Atticus Sappington’s parents, Jackie and Adam Sappington, are chefs from Portland. The couple run a restaurant called The Country Cat and have no previous experience in the sports field.
After reading a few interviews with Jackie and Adam, we can say that Atticus could be the first one from his family to make a name for himself in football. His parents have been in this profession for more than two decades.
The Oregon State University’s kicker, Atticus, graduated from Central Catholic and was redshirted in 2022. In his redshirt year, Atticus played nine games and was 5-of-7 in field-goal attempts.
This year, Atticus has established himself as the regular kicker for Oregon and has already improved his stats by a mile. He is currently 13-of-14 in field-goal attempts and is 92.9% in field goal made.
Atticus Sappington Parents: Meet Jackie And Adam Sappington
Atticus Sappington’s parents, Jackie and Adam Sappington, are a famous pair, in Portland. Jackie and Adam run the restaurant and bar, The Country Cat.
The restaurant is nestled in the Montavilla area, a family neighborhood. They opened the restaurant in April 2007, where Adams serves as the Executive Chef and Jackie is the Director of Operations.
It was through their love for food that the couple first crossed paths in 1995. They met at Portland’s Wildwood Restaurant. Both had freshly graduated.
Jackie graduated from the University of Oregon with an Anthropology degree, and Adam completed his associate degree from Western Culinary Institute. After dating for a while, the couple tied the knot in 2000.
Along with co-owning The Country Cat with her husband, Jackie is also the managing partner at Restaurant Equity Group, LLC dba Harlow Cafe + Juice Bar. In 2015, the couple also published the book Heatlandia: Heritage Recipes from Portland’s The Country Cat.
Born and raised in the Missouri farmlands, Adam would spend hours in the kitchen with his mother. He also attended local farmer’s markets with his grandmother.
He has been previously nominated for Best Chef Northwest Awards in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Adam has also been featured in shows, including Travel Channel’s Food Paradise, and appeared on ABC’s The Chew.
Jackie is a pastry specialist, having tested her skills as a baker at Café Azul and Lauro Kitchen. Previously, on Mother’s Day, Atticus shared a sweet post for his mom with a throwback photo.
Despite being popular in and around Portland, the couple has kept itself away from social media. Their Instagram handle is private, and they don’t share much on Facebook.

But unlike his brother, Atticus plays soccer. Standing at 6’2, Quinn plays as a goalkeeper for Western Washington University men’s soccer team.
Quinn committed to Western Washington University earlier this year. He shared a series of pictures of him wearing the team jersey in August, captioning the post, “Year 1.”
The younger brother of Atticus Sappington graduated from Central Catholic High School and was a three-time varsity letter winner. He was also named the 2022 6A Mt. Hood Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.
Quinn captained his team in the senior season and recorded 12 shutouts. He was also selected to the 2022 6A Mt. Hood Conference First Team All-Conference.
